Looks like we have a strong surprise candidate for February with mbv.
Also, if it wasn't too late, I would change my January vote from Foxygen to Local Natives. I've been listening to Hummingbird A TON lately and it's really grown on me; god it's such a gorgeous record. I might even like it more than Gorilla Manor.

I know no one else on here really gives a shit, but the new Frightened Rabbit album is quite good.
The dark horse and my pick for February. I love the new Nick and it should almost be tied but I know there will be other votes for that. Apparat it is.
Im going to go ahead and put my vote in for Jim James now. It may change, but for now that's my vote. So sweet
And last month I bought Foxygen and Local Natives, and while I like the LN album, Foxygen is a clear winner for me. A few of the songs are infectious and the way the record takes you up then higher, then comes down, then has a "finale" then brings you in for a landing is just great. As a whole piece, it just flows so nice.
I could see a Foxygen > Tame Impala closing a tent Thursday.... that'd be tit.

You do realize there are two more album drop days this month?
I can't believe some people aren't waiting to hear AMOK before casting their votes, even though, i do understand all the picks so far. This has been a monster month.

The new STRFKR is the best album this month I've heard, but I'm gonna hold off on voting until AMOK leaks. Super strong month, though.
So far, the February tally:
Jim James - Regions of Light and Sound of God: 2 Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse: 1 Foals - Holy Fire: 1 Apparat - Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre): 1 Mount Moriah - Miracle Temple: 1 Grouper - The Man Who Died in His Boat: 1
And my vote for Feb right now would be Jim James. Pretty weak month.
Don't judge me dude, Where I live is not who I am or where I'm from. The French thing was a joke, I just assume Americans hate the French, the whole freedom fries and things like that. Not serious, it's just fun. I'm actually from Nova Scotia, where roughly 30% are Habs fans, 30% Leafs fans, 10%Bruins fans and 20% other.
edit: which equals 90%! Lmao. It's too early, lets just say 30%other

I'm not judging, I was just curious.
On the whole French Canadian thing: my mom's side of the family moved down from Quebec about 125 years ago. My girlfriend's family too, even her meme speaks French from time to time and her dad understands it. It's a pretty large French Canadian area around here, dating back to the later 1800's.

Very strong month. And no one has included these yet:
Night Beds My Bloody Valentine Pissed Jeans
And these are (officially) still to come - just to name a few:
Atoms for Peace Nick Cave Mark Kozelek Iceage Autre ne Veut Palma Violets
Just listened to a Frightened Rabbit song and it sounds like its right up my alley. In going to go ahead and order it and give it a listen.
Then, I looked at their tour dates and, OF COURSE, they hit Atlanta and head to Birmingham. It sucks that this is the norm. With no days in between. Nothing in Jacksonville, Orlando, etc.
This really bothers me. It's almost every time that bands just skip Florida altogether. Hit Atlanta, head west. Boo.
leaders in the club house are MBV and Nick Cave. was Yo La Tengo this month or last? and also I need to change my top 5 for last year after hearing Goat.
