Agreed, let's respect PMO's rules in the thread. There are plenty of other threads that get derailed or can be used for discussions. Let's try to keep this one for it's intended purpose.
I'll make a post that I'll keep updated with the tally for this month, just for the fun of it:
Foxygen - We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic: 4 Local Natives - Hummingbird: 3 Tomahawk - Oddfellows: 2 Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer - Child Ballads: 1 A$AP Rocky - LONG.LIVE.A$AP: 1 California X - California X: 1 Blaudzun - Heavy Flowers: 1 Follakzoid - II: 1 FIDLAR - FIDLAR: 1
(not counting Sang's vote for Joy Formidable since he said he votes for Local Natives)
Here's our scorecard so far. I guess if everybody wants I can post the three highest vote-getters in three separate posts on Feb. 1 and whatever gets the most thumbs-ups is album of the month? Or we can just go by what has the most votes at the end of the month, which is what this tally is keeping track of.
The album that you are selecting for your Album of the Month must have had it's release date in that month.
No, I mean that the voting should be tallied in the thread for that month. Voting for only the top 3 at the beginning of the next month would lead to skewed results.

To make it easy, let's keep it so that the only way to vote is to post a picture of the album cover. I'll just keep a running tally based on that, like I'm doing now. That's pretty simple.

I was really close to going with Foxygen on this, and I really do like that album a huge amount. That being said, I don't love it in the way I've come to love Heavy Flowers. It really does feel like an Arcade Fire side project of sorts, but without being rehashing what they've already done.
02/08 Tool 02/11 Jeff Mangum 02/17 of Montreal 02/29 Blind Pilot 03/31 The Naked & The Famous 05/14 M83 and I Break Horses 05/19 Flaming Lips, Young the Giant, Dawes and AWOLNATION 06/07 Bonnaroo 2012!!! 06/13 Roger Waters 07/28 Toadies

California X comin' in at the midnight hour to tie the score for #1. Three and a half hours left in January 2013 if anybody wants to break the tie at the top.
