I'm loving Pacers game, few missed free throws & one bad play from being up 2-0! i would love to see Pacers vs Spurs. i know majority would hate this match up, but i would love it! screw the glam, D wins rings!!
I hope they take away LeBron's 1st Team All Defense. He flops sometimes
Lebron is being measured on the Michael Jordan Greatest Of All Time rubric for the rest of his life, you have to accept that at this point. That's the standard he's brought himself to by being the best basketball player in the NBA. In a way it's a compliment, because people don't judge everyone this harshly, just people we expect more from.

Do people know for certain that Jordan never flopped? GIF-making and easily-found YouTube footage wasn't exactly around in the mid 80's to late 90's. Plus I just really hate the "Players back in my day never did XYZ" argument in any sport.

Actually, there was really NO internet for the public in the mid 80s early 90s.

It'd be foolish of me to speak in absolutes here, because odds are that Jordan did oversell an offensive foul. But there's a difference between there being a foul and a player selling it to make sure he gets the call, and there being no foul and a player acting like he was shot in the gut with a potato gun.
Did Jordan sell fouls as being more serious than they were? I'm sure he did (in fact, I know of one instance off the top of my head where he definitely did). Did Jordan ever in his career go from arm-fighting with a guy for position to spinning to the ground like someone unplugged him in the Matrix? I highly, highly doubt it. That's the difference to me. You can sell a foul, that's been around for decades, but you shouldn't just create one out of thin air because refs are lazy and you know how to run into someone and fall down so it looks like they caused it.

flopping, ghost tags, making the baseball look like it hit you at the plate, phony pass interference, tripping, blah it happens in all sports I just don't think people cared as much (or as collectively without the internet) before because it didn't appear to be as egregious as it is now. It does need to be cracked down upon so it doesn't get as bad as soccer.
He flopped to get a backup center ejected. He's the reigning MVP. That's not bush league to you?
It's a superstar taking advantage of a situation knowing that he'll get away with more than most other players. Should MJ feel bad for pushing off on Russell in Game 6 in '98?
Deception of officials should not be a part of the sport.

It's a very easy response. Seriously, there's only one answer that's even acceptable. It's easy to find if you know where to look, but if you're just a bandwagon fan (as many believe you to be), it may not be so easy. I'm a Knicks fan, and this is common knowledge for us NY fans, so a life-long Miami fan should have no trouble answering.

what's wrong with being a bandwagon fan? Isn't that how most people tend to start following a team? You know dip the toe in the water however the crucial part is they do have to stay during the shiz years. Now if your in here just for the championships then you're just riding nuts. I guess there is a thin line there.
For example, when I was a kid, I grew up loving the Atlanta Braves and still do. They were the closest team and they happened to be awesome that year in 91-93' and no one is going to call a kid a bandwagon fan but you get the point. I've stuck through the shiz seasons as well so that makes me a fan now.
Edit: not defending or attacking anyone, I could care less. Just putting it out there for honest discussion of the term bandwagon fan

You mean you didn't give up on a team that won 11 consecutive division titles during your formative years?

Ha I figured that would come up. The Braves have had down years in terms of my perspective on how they play the game and the formation of the team but yeah. I guess a better example out there would be my enjoyment of the Dolphins.

Well let's be honest - they only won one World Series and choked games away regularly in many of those years. Praying for a repeat in 2013 - only earlier than the WS.
