Bynum will never get healthy, just temporarily not-as-bad
So this is the first year of the Nets in Brooklyn. And the Celtics have retooled, but who knows where they will end up. Both should be pretty interesting to watch.
Brooklyn is so incredibly overrated it's stunning. Brook Lopez is the softest 7-footer this side of Andrea Bargnani and the team will rise and fall with Deron Williams. Joe Johnson is the most overpaid 2-guard ever and they're playing 4-on-5 on offense with Mr. Kardashian. I'm a huge Gerald Wallace fan in a role as the 3rd-banana type, though.
They'll definitely be improved, but they're destined for a 6-seed and looking up at Boston/NY. Sorry, Philly, but no.
I'm just really happy the Knicks used the amnesty on Chauncey Billups instead of Stoudemire. F*ck.
Really not looking forward to the Knicks being exposed by the Nets on Thursday. All my friends are acting like we have a shot at a championship but they are really really just being delusional...
Oh stop it. The Nets are Deron Williams and a 7 foot center who only shoots jumpers.
If Chandler plays Thursday, the Knicks will probably win.
I think you're really overrating the Nets. Deron is the only elite player they have (Knicks only have Melo, for comparison), but the Knicks have the chance to be a plus defensive team, the Nets really don't. They're going to force the Nets to run more successful half-court sets than the they can on Thursday, and I don't think the Nets' defense will hold up as well as the Knicks'.

LOVE the way the Cavs looked last night. Kyrie Irving will rival Chris Paul as the best PG in the NBA by the end of the year. And they looked like a team that had been playing together for years despite being one of the youngest teams in the NBA. Waiters looked impressive, TT continues to grow, Andy came back stronger than ever and I still have high hopes for Zeller. It's gonna be fun watching that core grow together over the next couple seasons. Bench is god awful but that doesn't matter, the advancements of Kyrie/Dion/TT/Zeller is all that matters and they're off to a good start so far.
I'm really happy that I reached for James Harden in the 2nd round of my fantasy basketball draft. WOWOWOWOWOWOW
He went in the first round of both of my drafts. I had 4th pick in both (odd), so I never considered him, but is he worth a 9th-12th pick?
I had the pleasure of sitting next to the guy who took him 6th overall (too high, IMO) last night and he made sure I was aware any time Harden did something good.
And I'm so pissed the Knicks/Nets game was postponed, not like the Nets have any fans to fill that place up, anyway.
Sixers Nuggets game was awesome last night, first half I thought the Sixers seemed pretty sloppy, but they seemed to mostly get it together in the 4th. Hopefully Hawes plays the way he played last night all season
Yeahhhh I said it. Melo promised he'd play defense in close games in the 4th quarter after March or any nationally televised game before then. As long as he gets to shoot it 30 times.

lolknicks
Melo and Amar'e are 2 of the most overrated players of this era. They will continue to play no defense and play me-ball and fail. That is if Amar'e can even stay on the court
I predict a 7 or 8 seed for the Knicks and a swift first round exit

East
1. Miami Heat 2. Boston Celtics 3. Indiana Pacers 4. Brooklyn Nets 5. Philadelphia 76ers 6. Atlanta Hawks 7. New York Knicks 8. Chicago Bulls
9. Detroit Pistons 10. Milwaukee Bucks 11. Cleveland Cavaliers 12. Orlando Magic 13. Washington Wizards 14. Toronto Raptors 15. Charlotte Bobcats
West
1. Los Angeles Lakers 2. Oklahoma City Thunder 3. Los Angeles Clippers 4. San Antonio Spurs 5. Denver Nuggets 6. Memphis Grizzlies 7. Dallas Mavericks 8. Minnesota Timberwolves
9. Utah Jazz 10. Golden State Warriors 11. Houston Rockets 12. Portland Trail Blazers 13. Sacramento Kings 14. New Orleans Hornets 15. Phoenix Suns
The Knicks are not the 4th best team in the East. Just stop it right there.
Melo is also not the most overrated player in this era and not even close. Offensively, he's in a special grouping of players who can score at will every single night. He has off nights, but when the clock has 5 seconds on it there are few players you want (or should want) over him in that spot. I wish I kept count of the amount of times he drove, collapsed the defense and kicked it out only to have someone brick an open shot. He creates for his team even if he's not passing directly to them. He has a stigma for being selfish because of his lackluster defense (which, on most nights, is indeed lackluster), but when you put him on the floor with someone on his level the switch is flipped and he's a pit bull on defense. It's actually infuriating to watch him give LeBron all he can handle and go up and down the court with him trying to best one another. He doesn't bring that fire every night, which is why he's not a champion. He's had chances before, and I think you're all vastly overlooking the Knicks if you don't think they have an outside shot to do that this year, but it will all depend on what Melo does. It's his team, it'll rise and fall with his leadership, so if Woodson can get in his head and motivate him to play two-way ball, sky's the limit. If it's black hole Melo taking 35+ shots a game while his 4 teammates sit and watch him? Then I'm deleting this post.
The dude couldn't cut it with George Karl. 'nuff said.
Karl wanted Melo to play harder on defense, other than that he cut it just fine, and they probably should've beat the Lakers in '08-'09 (when Melo became less of a ball-hog and more of a team player).
Melo wanted out of Denver, but if not they would've kept him. It was Knicks or bust for Melo.
All of you need to shut the ffuck up. I'm a Wizards (nee Bullets) fan - oh yeah.
So this whole Melo this, 4th place that, lose to so and so in the playoffs this, better than Brooklyn that can kiss my apple blossoms (expression is the writer's own, not a filter).
We will rise someday. Hahahahaha.
Hmm. Maybe I DO need to post in the drunk rambling thread...
OK, so I sometimes pay attention to the Nets ... and even I know they aren't finishing 4th in the East. It's pretty unlikely. They should be above the Knicks though. Maybe Nets 7 and Knicks 9

You sound like an authority on the Eastern Conference.
Nets are finishing behind the Knicks, have you watched either team play this year?
