Timmy D is going to need to get his game on point for them to beat the heat. Last night it seemed he missed a few plays that woulda probably kept them in the lead one of the three first quarters. He'll be alright tho. He completely dominated The Birdman and Bosh IMO and held his own against LBJ which is impressive in itself. gotta watch the foul trouble tho he had 2 in the first and when he went out the Heat went on to gain a 8-10 point lead. Spurs in......6
I personally like the slogan floating around SA right now...BUILT, NOT BOUGHT
Says it all to me
I can understand why some would say that the Spurs are a boring team. However, their philosopy with Coach Pop is substance vs stardom/flashy. Sure Miami has Lebron, OKC has Durant, LA has Kobe, etc, etc. Do any of those teams have a complete team as deep as the Spurs...I think not. The Spurs don't need one or two superstars, because the whole team is a superstar.
I'm not going to try to guess how many games this Finals will go to, because I know that Miami is a great team. I will say that the Spurs will be the next NBA Champions though.

Tony Parker is so good.
Lebron needs to take more than 16 shots, and I know Bosh is a good shooter, for a big guy, but he needs to ease up on the 3's, particularly in crunch time.
Okay you all win - no one ever backs down on the Internet, yada yada yada.
Tom, you have this uncanny ability to make me feel like I let my father down whenever you say something like this. But, it's true. So, back to more important matters, how bout that shot that TP hit? That little french SOB has got some damn moxy.
Certainly not my intent. That was mostly a setup for a fabulous Gloria Estefan reference.
That shot was amazing - but if Van Gundy flip-flopped one more time about whether it was going to get overturned or not as they showed it for the 65th time, I was going to scream.

If the Spurs win the series that shot is going to be shown in Finals\ montages until the end of time. Hopefully they just don't show the 5-7 seconds preceding it.
Well to further derail this thread... I want to hear opinions on something I always hear debated in my hometown (Houston)
Whenever the Houston Rockets won their 2 championships in the mid 90's the consensus is that if Jordan played those years the Bulls would have beaten the Rockets
Now obviously I'm a homer and believe the Rockets could have beaten the Bulls. I think it would have been a great series, but the Bulls would have had absolutely no answer for Olajuwon. In 94 he embarrassed the MVP David Robinson and in 95 he took care of Shaq (granted he was young). I could only imagine what he would have done to Bill Cartwright and Luc Longley.
And I know "BUT YOU WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP JORDAN BRAHH" granted I don't think anyone could stop Jordan, but we did have Vernon Maxwell. In an interview with Jordan, he was asked who he least liked playing against and why. Answer: Vernon Maxwell because he stayed in his face and in his ear (mouthing off) the entire game.. Now im not saying Jordan wouldn't have lit it up but the Rockets would have had at least some kind of answer.
Anyways I figured since were in the 90's I'd bring it up.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

According to the game of NBA2k I played against my buddy yesterday, the Bulls would have taken the one game series. Final score: 82-76
Wow, what a slaughter! I expected the Heat to make adjustments and be more aggressive defending the home court, but WOW! The Spurs played like dookie with their turnovers and plenty of missed opportunities :-(
James showed up In the 4th, and the Spurs didn't :-(
Well, like most analysts say, the Heat can put on a spurt of energy, but they can't sustain. If it weren't for James, and the lack of the Spurs, the Heat surely would have gone down.
Bring on Game 7!
Also, I don't know that I really believe this, but there is talk that since it's Stern's last season, this was done for as much profit as could be made...hence, the series going back and forth.
Jordan wouldn't have had to ditch the headband to win. /comparisons
That's because Jordan made being bald cool and wouldn't rock a headband because he somehow turned forehead sweat into an advantage, HE'S AN ICON AND AN INNOVATOR.
It makes me sad to think that basketball is almost finished for the season. It's a very dark time between the end of the NBA and the start of the NFL. Hopefully we get a good game to close this season out. I'm super ok with either side winning at this point, so I'm rooting for basketball tonight.
What's your pre tip off predictions? I've got Miami.

I'd love to hear what makes you think the Spurs didn't "want it" as much. I know it's easy to be hyperbolic right away, but that has to be the best NBA Finals of my lifetime. The Spurs are an excellent team that played excellently and lost to an equally excellent team that happens to have a player who will become, at worst, the second best player in history. It has nothing to do with "wanting it."
