Notre Dame and Alabama will play the first ever scoreless National Championship game that'll be called a tie after every offensive player on both rosters goes down via injury. Enjoy!

Usc was pretty funny last night. 2 straight jump balls for Lee end up with pass interferences. Then they go to 3 straight running plays.......Kiffin finally has the genius idea to throw the ball again and the bum can't even get the pass there. Oh well, I was actually rooting for ND for the first time this season, bc it should be an easier game than Florida/Oregon (or at least Oregon, anyway).
I'm gonna call the championship game at 20-10 Alabama.

That (second) last USC possession was just brutal to watch. Except not really cause it's Lane Kiffin. They got inside the 3 yard line with something like 5:30 on the clock, and that 4th down play was run with about 2:40. Kiffin should be fired based on play calling and clock management on that drive alone.
Sorry for the rant last night. I couldn't do that out loud b/c I had my 10 yr old with me, and I couldn't do that on facebook either. It's a new day, the sun came out, and life goes on.

Illinois is 2-9, 0-7 in conference play and on the verge of its worst season since 2006.
During Saturday's game against Northwestern, Illinois and coach Tim Beckman were involved in a couple plays that pretty much summed up why the Illini are in such a poor position this year.
Late in the first quarter, Beckman was running along the sideline urging his team to play defense after a Northwestern player had intercepted the ball and was streaking down the field. The only problem was that Beckman was right in the path of the official, who gave Beckman a forearm shiver to the ground and then flagged him for being in the way.
The penalty put Northwestern in the red zone and the Wildcats scored on the next play.
It was the most Illinois series of events ever.
This is why I barely pay attention to UofI football.

So who's excited for the Big East showdown in Piscataway on Thursday?
Yeah, I didn't think so.
I don't know. Who's playing?
It's Rutgers vs. Louisville. Winner goes to the Orange Bowl. Rutgers is looking for its first ever conference title before they leave to join a real conference.

Yeah the team that lost 47-14....47! to! 14! to.....2-10 Kentucky!!! GTFO MAC! "Of course" they may find some legitimacy next weekend by beating Northern Illinois.... another ranked MAC team, whose only loss also came out of conference.....to 4-8 IOWA! GTFO MAC!
These teams don't deserve to be ranked unless they are undefeated and even then it would be a very nice thing to do for them. I mean, c'mon, they each have one win against a school from an actual conference. NIU's is against 1-10 Kansas by a whopping 7 points and Kent St's is against the bums at Rutgers. We all know how good they are, See: Beatdown In Pittsburgh.
The Big East is already dead, because of greedy a-holes who chase BCS bowls instead of keeping together the best conference in NCAA basketball ARGHHHHHHGA;LKJADFG;LKJA;KLDJGADKL;GJ;LKDSJGKL;DASFJG
Don't get me started. Big East basketball used to be NBA-level and now half the teams are going to replace with patsies. F*ck.

Reading some speculation boards on UT's coaching search is terrible and wonderful at the same time. I worry about Hart either making a bad choice or getting forced into one due to lack of interest and/or finances. At the same time, it is amazing to see people run with totally unsubstantiated rumors (think right before lineup drop but much much worse). There is an equal number of people who think Gruden has been already hired and who think he has totally cut off talks. Also, every coach possible will either be the savior of the program or the end of it depending on who you ask.

People outside Kentucky, Indiana, and North Carolina shouldn't care about college basketball. Maybe Connecticut too.

That's just silly. New York, Kansas and Maryland have more NCAA titles in the last 10 years than Indiana does. Florida has more than Kentucky. Everyone should care about college basketball.

This is just as stupid as the "people up north don't care about college football" argument.
If people shared this viewpoint things like George Mason and VCU don't happen.
I'll stop it here, bring it to the NCAA basketball thread if you want to keep going.

And now he mentioned college footbal. OMG you guys!!@!
Heh, last year Illinois basketball fans were freaking out because Shaka Smart (VCU coach they wanted to get really badly) was wearing a Blue and Orange tie during VCU's second tournament game.
