I went to a Sum 41, Chevelle, Shinddown, The Offspring and Stained concert. It cost me $20 and the only reason I went is because of the tailgate we had planned. We showed up at the venue to be told the venue now enforced a "no tailgating" rule.
It was, by far, the worst concert-going experience of my life.

I have a confession but not of my own. I discovered this weekend that Karosko has a MCR album on his iPod
Hell yeah, and I had American Idiot by Green Day on pause when I picked up Holls in DC. In fact, for like the 2-3 hours before I picked up Holls I was on a solid run of emo-ish albums that I loved in my younger days--MCR's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, American Idiot, Brand New's Deja Entendu, Weezer's Pinkerton, The Wrens' Meadowlands, etc. And I screamed along with ALL the words. I regret none of this, bakes. So suck it.
I'll make sausage's confession for him: he loved it when bonzai sipped sangria from his nippies. LOVED IT.

I will defend the merits of Deja Entendu until the end of time. It still holds up for me today even though I don't listen to 95% of what I listened to in high school.
^This confession breaks my heart just a little. It's a shame you just now heard them only days after Bill's passing. Some friends of mine discovered Morphine after hearing about Mark Sandman's death: they fell in love with music they could never see performed. Sadness all around.
But better late than never, my hipsterrific, glorious hair-having friend.
On last week's Epic Road Trip, I successfully stumped both Baecs & Hipster Thor at least 7x in a row on "Name That Song." It was a massive ego stroke to stump a duo who eat, live & breathe music.
6. Yesterday marked my first time ever listening to an Olivia Tremor Control album.
I saw them years ago at their Elephant 6 Centric commune thing on the outskirts of Athens called Orange Twin. While it freaked out my buddy and my brother, I found it to be a real eye opening experience. I thought I was finally going to make it back to Orange Twin last weekend to see Bradford Cox perform with Jandek, but decided to take my wife out to dinner instead. I've been working out of town and rarely get to go home. I finally came for the weekend and left my wife behind to go see a show on Friday, so I owed it to her. But, seeing Bradford Cox at the show I was at Friday and then learning of Bill Doss death days later really made me wish I didn't change plans of attending that freaky/magical place I saw Olivia Tremor Control.
