"For the first time, Zac Brown Band's Southern Ground Music & Food Festival comes to Nashville with a two-day festival at The Lawn at Riverfront Park on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22, 2012. The Lawn at Riverfront Park is a brand new concert location, on the Cumberland River downtown, between the Shelby Street Bridge and Korean Veterans Boulevard.
Zac Brown Band will be performing both nights of the festival with additional artists to be announced. Early bird discounted two-day festival tickets will be available for a limited time and offered first to Zamily members during an exclusive pre-sale beginning Tuesday, June 5 at 12pm CT."
...I guess Zac Brown Band is the only act that has been confirmed. Last year had decent supporting acts, not sure what's in store for this year.
Anyone know if there will be single day tickets or any artist addition rumors?
Not a huge ZBB fan, but I'm gonna be in the area that weekend for the Umphrey's show @ the Ryman and figured this may be worth checking out Saturday, didn't see any single day passes announced though.
I'd be really surprised if anyone on this board chose this over than DeLuna or Music Midtown. I thought you were doing DeLuna. Why drive all the way to Nashville for one Umphrey's show when you can see 4 shows in ATL for their new years run? Are you planning on doing that too?

I know it... I'll be super surprised to see if anyone does choose this over Deluna. We are bailing on Deluna again, missed out on the early bird tickets and I was hoping that we would be able to score some el cheapo's, however I just don't wanna have to rely on that last minute. The Deluna lineup just isn't worth the $200 now, I wanted to see Trampled by Turtles and the NOLA acts, but I've already seen pretty much all the NOLA acts that they have announced... I already had the vacation time locked in for these dates and we've (randomly) never been to Nashville, so Umphrey's was a good enough reason to go and check out the town. We are still indecisive about the NYE run to be honest... We did VIP for the Halloween run at the Tabernacle last year and that was a helluva time, but I just don't know if I'll be able to score those dates for January. We're also seeing them again @ Bear Creek, so I don't wanna get burnt out...

I went to the Southern Ground Fest last year in Charleston for the Friday show. It was a good time. I met some of the guys from Blackberry Smoke. I was thinking about heading to the one in Nashville this year, depending on the line up. Ticket prices and VIP upgrades were totally worth it last year, beer was included in the price. The only weird thing is that you could not take the beer out of the VIP section, but we just propped them up in our back packs the right way and walked out very slowly to not spill them. Security was wise to us, but just laughed.

That is pretty weird that you couldn't take the beer outta the VIP area... I guess they don't want people sharing their free beer. $89 a ticket for the weekend could be worth it, but not sure if it's worth just one day though. They don't give any inkling as to when the next round of additions will be announced...

Sweet! Yeah that'd be great, always down for gettin' to know some local joints and meetin' some cool locals... I'm sure there's gotta be a few good taprooms round Nashville.

I'm still throwin the idea up in the area, but the only acts that spark my interest are David Gray and the special Gregg appearance, however I can pretty much guarantee anyone that Gregg will only be doing 2 songs at max.
Umphrey's Mcgee @ the Ryman on Friday and Jimmy Herring Band @ 3rd and Lindsley on Sunday though!!! I'll be pickin' my face up off the floor come that following Monday...
David Gray? The pasty white English alt-folk crooner whore career seemingly peaked a decade ago? I love that guy, but his sound seems a bit out of place on this lineup, esp. compared to The Lumineers. Now THOSE GUYS are phenomenal. If you haven't seen them, make it happen. They'll be huge in a few years and you'll kick yourself for missing a chance to see them now. Trust me.

Hahahaha yeah that pasty english chap! I never had a chance to see him and you're right, seemingly out of place on this lineup, but he's still a top notch "entertainer." Totally different than a lot of shiz that's around, but I have a lot of respect for the guy. I haven't heard The Lumineers yet, but I'll definitely check him out.

Right there with ya... I am going to Nashville for that weekend, just to get away and see Umphrey's, but I was hoping that this would be a nice little treat. Wrong. I was hoping for maybe a $50 1-day pass or something. Wrong. Oh well, can't be disappointed w/ Umphrey's & Jimmy Herring in the same weekend on a random trip to Nashville.

Yes - it was excellent. Lumineers were an incredible opening act - they will be headlining next year. OCMS put on a great show as usual. Got one Band cover, and two Dylan covers so it was nice. Just so much energy and the crowd and the band feed off each other.
