This really isn't a draw for me to come down from NJ, even if I were to get admission in exchange for volunteering. I'm going to see Kendrick Lamar and Passion Pit at Sweetlife Festival anyway. It's not going to be worth the 300 dollars of travel for me to see The Shins , Jim James, and Bloc Party... Headliners do absolutely nothing for me, Mumford would've been a slight draw. I guess I'll be waiting on the OutsideLands lineup now (My festival-going friend is leaving for June-July this summer)

I'm pretty satisfied for the most part. My wife, who isn't the biggest jam band fan in the world, is likely going to be a little disappointed. At least the KOL will make her happy. ... I foresee some trade offs where she ends up having to watch Mule, moe., etc. and I have to watch KOL.
Yeah, there's no way I would travel (fly out) for this mediocrity. Beale Street Music Festival destroyed Hangout this year and that is pretty quacking sad.
I dig it...a lot. Been lobbying for Petty at a local fest for years.
Even without a 3rd headliner this lineup has more people I want to see out the gate than the previous 2 (quantity-wise). I'm sure there will be a few undercard acts I'll fall in love with between now and then as well. To think I only spent $50 for this lineup and there is more to come!

Solid undercard, I like KOL so I am happy about that..nothing to wait against the rails for but still solid. TAB will be great and I am hoping for another hetty headliner.

I'm not saying this is a jaw dropper, but it's far from awful. They really improved their hip hop and indie booking, which have always been problem areas for them. It's kind of shocking that they booked acts like Breeders, Dirty Projectors, and Twin Sister, and this is easily the best set of hip hop acts they have ever put together.
I'm f*cking pumped about this lineup!! I love KoL (screw you guys), and that along with Bloc Party, Bassnectar (!!!), Tom Petty, The ROOTS, Kendrick....I'm ecstatic!
Petty at Hangout is a dream come true for me, for personal reasons. Very excited about KoL, Shins, Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, Roots, Jim James, Porter Robinson. The EDM lineup took a huge blow this year with EDC NYC being the same weekend. I imagine they might could land one more big EDM name if ticket sales are slow
Anyone have any suggestions for other festivals to look into? I was really feeling Hangout but this just isn't my style of music. I am more a fan of the style thats on this year's Coachella Lineup, This years sasquatch lineup. However, I am unable to attend festivals in June or July because the buddy I go with won't be around then. I am thinking of focusing on Outside Lands now, but is there anything i'm forgetting? We are already going to Sweetlife in MD.

Couldn't agree more sgt. If the headliner is someone I like this will be pretty F'n sweet. And the last 4 flips show I've seen seemed EXACTLY the same. The werks are kick ass if you enjoy that type of music. Moe and Tab just don't do it for me so that's a nice addition. wish deadmau5 was there instead of assnectar but we cant have it all! See you guys in may

True, there is a glaring lack of edm but I always had conflicts with the EDM acts last year anyway. Even though I am huge edm fan I will still pick a decent live act over a dj any day. I'm hoping for more jamtronica style acts if they add to the edm lineup. Conspirator or Gramatik would be ideal, IMO.
We should get a mid-tier edm act or two for the thursday preparty as well...
