So what are everyone's thoughts behind the new tent? Maybe separating trap, dubstep, and radio EDM from "higher quality" electronic and synth pop acts?

I'm not so sure it's going to be an additional tent, maybe just a "new" one - as in, changing the style/format of one of the existing ones. If it is an additional tent though, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I mean, isn't that kind of what's happened with the Mojave over the past few years? The cheese is in the Sahara, the more quality stuff gets moved to the Mojave?

I got the impression they were adding a whole new structure, but I agree its already pretty much divided.
And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.

Yeah, essentially the better stuff is in the Gobi and Mojave. The issue with that is last year for example, on Sunday. The Mojave went First Aid Kit - Wild Beasts - Beats Antique - Araab Muzik - Gotye. The Gobi had Real Estate - Thundercat - Gaslamp Killer (during Araab Muzik actually) - Airplane Boys. Seems that an additional electronic tent would make sense leaving indie/folk/punk acts etc. in the Gobi and Mojave. That way Beats Antique and Araab wouldn't have followed First Aid kit and Wild Beasts while overlapping the Gaslamp set.
Plus after acquiring the polo fields and extending the contract with Indio one could assume some permanent changes are in the works. Plenty of places for another tent if that's the case.
How would you guys feel about Coachella booking FatBoy Slim?
Not interested. Saw him at Voodoo 2011 and he was pretty boring. I'd rather have The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Underworld, or Kraftwerk if we're going to get an old school electronic act.

QOTSA and Tom Waits are now apparently likely. All the chatter seems to have moved to private threads. If anyone on here is a participant I will trade you a compliment for a rumor.

I think he sent it to horn in a PM and horn quoted him without his permission. We peons are not privy to the hetty information on the coachella all-star subforum.

It wasn't a PM, but he wanted it deleted and I was happy to oblige. I left the outline as a testament to the good and charitable deeds performed by badpunz
