This lineup is awesome! All of the headliners are great, and they blew it out of the water with the hip-hop and alt/indie acts. My only real complaints are the lack of metal, and spots 5-10 on the bill. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually interested seeing ALL of those (other than maybe TAB and FTP but only because I've seen them already), but none of those names are nearly as big compared to last year (other than, shun me now, Skrillex, who is probably good at #9).
On a side note, my best friend, that I went to Roo with last year, was only convinced to go because of the rap on there (Eminem, Wayne, and Wiz), and the main decision was rather to go to Roo or the upcoming Wayne concert (laugh, I know, but we love Wayne haha). Eventually, Roo won out, and we both had the best four days of our lives. Now the hip-hop gives even more of a reason to come back. Mac Miller, The Roots, Yelawolf, Childish Gambino, Ludacris, and Black Star (haven't listened to Das Racist yet)?? Roo brought it this year, no doubt (yeah, we both like all of those acts).

I will never understand how people who live in Nashville, Knoxville, or anyplace else within a 3-hour radius don't go to this regardless of how great/not great the lineup is. It's such a minimal amount of travel, it blows my mind.
Yes I live an hour from the farm which is why it's killing me that I'm not going. I love Bonnaroo, but I told myself it would have to be an awesome lineup (in my terms - no one else's) for me to pay that much money and take off 3 days from work. Also I'm going to Forecastle this year and saving up for other stuff. It's not just the lineup that's keeping me from going. If I had the funds, I would go to every festival I could this summer just because I love music festivals!

What about the lineup did you not like?
And I'm gonna take a really creepy longshot guess, but is your avatar photo from the corner of the bar at clean Gentleman Jims in Murfreesboro?

Making a run for the Roofie for "Creep of the Year"? Note to self: We should present this one at Radiohead...
So this is my first round evaluation - NOTE, half of these bands I only heard one song from so it probably will change a lot by Roo:
Must see: Radiohead Red Hot Chili Peppers The Beach Boys Black Star Alice Cooper Childish Gambino The Roots St. Vincent City and Colour Fitz and the Tantrums Bon Iver
Want to see: Phish The Shins Azia Ansari Feist Ben Folds Five Flogging Molly The Civil Wars Mac Miller Major Lazer Umphrey's McGee AfroCubism Mimosa Gary Clark Jr Delta Spirit Mogwai SBTRKT Dawes
Possibly see: Dispatch Ludacris Skrillex Tune-Yards Little Dragon Young the Giant Two Door Cinema Club Yelawolf Foster the People
rooter. i had the same thoughts on Dawes but they have REALLY grown on me. I suggest you give them another shot.
listen to "million dollar bill"
Million Dollar Bill is my favorite (but I prefer the "Middle Brother" version with 3 different vocalists.
Dawes are a little soft at times but I do enjoy their music. They're great live as well. What won me over is their video of "With a little help from my friends". Look that up.

Dawes troo music lounge show in 2010 was one of the festival highlights for sure. They killed it and the crowd was small but as energetic and singing along as I've seen. Went back to watch the next morning at Sonic Stage and it was good but not quite the same energy as the night before.
I've seen them several times since and they always bring it. Fun times.
anyone else have a print out of the line up with color coded Must see's, might see, and a long list of Must hear more of this act - has promise?? (right beside the work they are supposed to be doing?)
We got to see several of the undercard shows at NFF with a few hundred people at each stage last year. This year they are at Roo. Hope that theme repeats this year.
