Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
anyone else have a print out of the line up with color coded Must see's, might see, and a long list of Must hear more of this act - has promise?? (right beside the work they are supposed to be doing?)
We got to see several of the undercard shows at NFF with a few hundred people at each stage last year. This year they are at Roo. Hope that theme repeats this year.
i was supposed to be doing a paper this morning... needless to say that didn't happen
Guys, I can't find my s***. I think I lost it somewhere this morning shortly after that line-up drop. Let me know if you guys find it?
OMG LMAO!!!
Have to say there wasn't any screaming craziness when we first looked at the lineup - but damn there is a metric ShIIIIttt ton of magic marker on my printout. I am SOOOO glad we changed our minds last friday and decided that Roo 2012 is a Go for us. Like moth's to the flame.
Undercard is a bit weak, but we do have Radiohead and The Beach Boys.
I keep meaning to respond to one of your posts that I love your signature. I have a child named after Bob Dylan, one named after Miles Davis, and one named after John Coltrane (all represented in your album cover sig). And Rush is awesome.

Excellent list Belgian fellow. For me, I would subtract Alice Cooper and add Civil Wars, Shins, Bon Iver, and Lonely Forest.

I'm starting to like Lonly Forest. Already seen Bon Iver and I'm not into The Shins that much but I might check them out.
If the Civil Wars are playing on a good time I'm seeing them too and no way that I'm missing Alice Cooper!
Now that I've let the lineup sink in a bit, something seems missing to me in that 5-10 range. I think Jack White at 5 would have made a world of difference. We could also use some classic soul and some classic country. Maybe the additions can alleviate that a bit. I still really like the lineup, though, and will definitely be there. I give it an 8.
I have either never heard of these bands or never heard any of their music. So, which ones are good? i have a ton a great acts i wanna see though!!!! cant wait!!
I'm not sure where to post this, but I just wrote a blog about my experiences at Bonnaroo, mostly about my impressions my first year there. It increased the nostalgia and excitement factor for me, so might do the same for y'all. Also might give a good idea to newcomers about what your first Roo experience could be like. I think some of you guys will enjoy reading it:
"We danced to bands with tens of thousands of other people. Sang along to songs we knew and more we didn’t. In the darkness, hundreds of glowsticks streaked the air like tracer shots in war. Giant inflatables bounced over dozens of light sabers pointed skyward. Stuffed animals impaled on sticks danced above the hot crowds, puppeted by someone just given ecstasy by a friend made seconds before. A man wore a dildo helmet wrapped in Christmas lights. Bass made the ground vibrate. There was noise everywhere, and at all times."
Monster,
Phantogram and Grouplove are both very good with fun albums. I saw both at Outside Lands last year. I remember Grouplove being particularly awesome live.

I know this isn't exactly "classic country", but how sweet would it be if something along the lines of an Emmylou & Spyboy reunion could get added? Possible walk-ons by, like, Lanois... ?uest... Patty Griffin/Doug Lancio...
Buddy Miller would need to be there, for certain, and I'm not sure what Band of Joy is/isn't up to these days.
The lineup is dope (as always). This will be my 5th Roo and I have full faith in SP/ACE at this point. Sure, some years might be more epic than others, but they're all special events if you ask me. I think 2012 has a few questionable picks as usual, but overall there's a very good balance between the genres. I don't see how jam, hip hop or indie fans could be upset.
EDIT: And I don't even have to change my sig from last year, it still holds true.

No, I don't know. They're semi-catchy kinda-bluegrass kinda-rock music. Their newest, "I and Love and You," despite the retch-inducing title, is a pretty good place to start.
Man that is exactly my stance/knowledge on them. I know I and Love and You (and cringed at the title when I first saw it) but it just seems like this is one of those folky bluegrass rocky bands that semi-artistic semi-party girls seem to love.
