I just don't understand how a band this great is still not huge. I just bought tickets to a show in early April for $13. How does that happen? And they are billed about 15 spots too low. Oh well, I will be there barring conflict.
Their last show at Bonnaroo was very memorable. Due to bad weather en route, their set was moved from That Tent to This Tent. They went from being one of the first shows of the day, to closing out This Tent. I don't think everyone got the message, because the tent was only half full. Midway through the set, a really nasty thunderstorm rolled through, and added a ton of energy to an already energetic show.
I think I missed Tobacco for this, but it was worth it.
They are still great live, but their new material that they debuted the last time I saw them was awful. Embarrassingly bad. Still will be a solid show though.
Their new single "California" is a bit of a grower, but their overall live performances are as good as they've ever been. Some sort of collaboration with Dawes between either sets could also be possible.

Yeah saw them open for MMJ in Greensboro was a pretty good show but the crowd was a little lame even when Patrick from MMJ came out and played drums w/ them. I have a feeling their Roo show will be much better, looking forward to it.

Saw them at the Caravan in AC. There was absolutely nobody there and I was so close that I was practically on the stage. Their performance was insane. Absolutely great. Played a lot of new stuff too and I loved it. I cannot wait for this show.

We were probably standing right next to each other! They were also opening a stage on the first day, right? I almost missed them because I was late getting there. SOOO glad that I didn't miss them!
(I was late because I had forgotten my ticket and had to turn around. It put me almost 3 hours behind!!!)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

This perfectly mirrors my memories. I loved that performance, and seeing the rain pound the ground around me only added to it. I've seen them one other time since then, and they still bring it live, at least in my opinion.

that 09 set was my favorite of that year. it was unreal.
seen them probably 8-9 times, never anything less than steller. i am slightly concerned with what this new album is going to bring though, to be honest. not really feeling california all that much.
i am all for new direction, but dont become just another modern rock band, they are better than that.
My friend hooked me up with the new album and it definitely sounds ALOT different from their first two albums. I can't stress that enough; it doesn't even sound like the same band. I'm not sure I even have an opinion on it yet because it is so different than what I was used to from DS. I'm trying to be objective and not compare it to their older albums; I'm curious to see how others will receive it. Just my two cents/unsure opinion

As soon as i saw delta spirit on the line up i started looking for deer tick thinking all three bands for a middle brother set would be there. Not complaining cause i'll take delta and dawes and day of the week. Maybe deer tick will be added and they could just put them all in a tent together. I wouldn't need to move except to get more beer.

One of my favorite all time Roo sets! I am so pleased that they will be back this year

They've recently become one of my favorite bands, but i was really disappointed by the new single, although im goign to take Justin2's word for it and keep listening anyways.
I'm also really hoping for a Deer Tick/Diamond Rugs addition so i can let Middle Brother become my #1 band and they can blow my mind. but if i have to settle with some Dawes collaborations, ill be perfectly happy.

I've got some stories that I'll type up at some point about this band. So amazing. I love them and can't wait to see them at Roo. A top act to see for me.

I've wanted to pre-order that album but can't find how to. Weird.
Liking what i've heard so far. I also like all the descriptions i've read about how they're going the Wilco/MMJ route of changing up their sound a tad bit and evolving it to something else.
