Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I know they're in Worcester, MA on the 7th and 8th, but you could forgive them for making the mistake. After all, both Worcester and Bonnaroo are full of jobless people who probably haven't showered in weeks. Easy misunderstanding there.
As a Vermonter, I've been a Phish fan for most of my life. Unfortunately I've only gotten to see them once. It was the concert they recently played in Vermont to raise money for all the flood victims. One of the best concerts I've been at! All the other shows sell out so quickly and are quite pricey, but I still love em. I'm so excited to get to see them again at Bonnaroo.
3/7 - Black Keys/Arctic Monkeys 3/15 - The Head and The Heart 3/22 - Dr. Dog 4/12 - Barefoot Truth 4/18 - John Mayer 4/25 - The Avett Brothers 5/26 - Dave Matthews Band 6/7-10 - Bonnaroo!

I'm assuming you're pretty young, but you should feel fortunate you missed out on Coventry....that's all i'll say about that.
As far as your comment on the other shows "selling out quickly and being quite pricey", I don't think you'll have to worry about that this tour. With the 9 shows in the tri-state area this tour, you'll have an easy time scoring tickets. The jersey shows won't sell out. That place has the potential for a 40/50k+, but they'll be lucky to get that much. Burgettstown I don't see selling out right away, even though the band kills it there. SPAC is a large venue for a 3 night run, but I could see it eventually selling out (MAYBE). It's key to stay off the lawn for those shows though. It's an awful lawn sightline wise. Jones Beach shows will sell out, but just jump on it early if that's something you want to attend. FYI it's a DRY venue....for the 4th of july...

I'm not all too familiar with Phish but I have always wanted to see them. I've heard it's an absolutely mind blowing show. I'm a huge F'Lips fan and use their show as the yard stick by which to measure other shows and seeing some of the videos on this thread makes me think I might needs a bigger stick! Very informative post BTW, I was listening to Junta the other day, The Helping Friendly Book song, and thinking that sounds like fun but good god that's obnoxious. Thanks to your post I now have a little more perspective and appreciation for it!
I really want to start a thread like this for DMB, but I'm not really in any condition right now to defend against the imminent barrage of comments of how they're just a crappy pop band with a violin.
I might, might have liked DMB if it were not for the fans that I've met. The only people I've ever met that love DMB were always stereo typical, unbelievably stereo typical, trust funded frat brah's who were the biggest summers breeze bags to be around. Please understand that I am a very chill and accepting person. You have to be a profound summers breeze bag for me not to like you. And I'm not saying that being a DMB fan means your prone to douchedom. It's unfortunate because those people seriously poisoned that man's music for me. I can't listen to it without feeling their vibe.

Well just FYI the "helping friendly book song (Icculus) is very rare live and not "typical phish", and was a bonus track on the remastered Junta. If you get more into the band, you will learn about the story behind it. Its a complex tale that Trey actually wrote for his College Thesis. Download "The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday" to hear it complete with narrations. It contains quite a few live Phish staples

The joke to the song of course is that the kids will read icculus (ridiculous) the band can be bad about silly puns.

So how is "two sets" going to work? Are they going to play from say, 8-10pm, take an hour break bands play on the other stages/tents and then come back from 11-midnight? Is Aziz Ansari going to entertain the crowd during the set break?
I'm having a hard time picturing this on a Sunday night. I would imagine after the first set a lot of people who aren't big fans are going to go back to their campsite after the first set. Thoughts?
On another note, can anyone explain to me why Phish always hits the WORST cities in America? It's never like Boston, NYC, Philly, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, etc. It's always crap like Worcester, Hartford, Albany, Newark, and so on. It's really weird.
Phish is playing Alpine Valley this year and has many years in the past. That is essentially an outdoor Chicago show but without the brutal city regulations.

Two sets and a 30 minute break, pretty much the same as every Phish show.

This.
But I agree it will be strange during that 30 min of PA music w/o any other live music going on at Bonnaroo. Maybe it'll clear out the indie nerds
FWIW I am beyond excited for the Phish sets. This will be my first Phish show, and I'm planning on catching them again later in June when they pop up to Blossom Music Center.
I kinda have the same thoughts/questions as frank does. Is there REALLY 30 minutes of nothing between sets?! I know coastalconrad was joking around, but seriously I think people WOULD start to leave after the first set if they didn't know any better!!! It just seems like a long break before the second set.

I think thirty minutes is a pretty par for the course set break.

Yea, its not that big of a deal. The only people still around at 10 pm on Sunday will be there for Phish anyway. Its pretty typical. Wasn't the scenario the same in 09?

You will need those 30 minutes to let your face re-harden and to maybe locate a few of your marbles.

^This!!! Also it is just about enough time for everyone to go to the bathroom and buy more beer.

"As a homosexual, my job is simply to sodomize mediocrity. I am terrified and horrified and shocked that anyone would mention Phish in any article related to me."
