As someone who has lived in the Northeast his entire life, I think North Carolina would be my limit. The Deep South is just too conservative, and the weather is unbearable in summer. Asheville would be one of my top choices of places to live, but the job openings in my field seem to be few and far between.
For the most part the conservative part is true, except in the major cities. Davidson County (Nashville) almost always votes liberal. While every other rural county goes conservative.

Well, I'm from the dirty, filthy nasty dirty south...Tell New Orleans it's conservative.

Asheville is fucking amazing. Man, I would love to live there someday.

New Orleans is an exception given its fusion of different cultures. It's definitely on my bucket list of places to visit.

Asheville certainly has a lot going for it. It's a progressive, well-educated city with a good quality of life. The weather is very tolerable (not too cold in winter, not too hot/humid in summer), and it's very close to the Appalachians and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I've never been, but it seems like it would be a pretty ideal place for me to live if I could actually find a job there. The National Climatic Data Center is located in Asheville, but they have very infrequent job openings.

I've been to Asheville so many times, a mountain town near there is where my family and I have vacationed since I was born. God it is so beautiful around there. Miss it

Most of the major cities in the southeast vote democrat (I know both the counties that Charlotte and Atlanta are in have voted blue in the last three presidential elections.) Seems like Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans usually vote democrat as well. I would recommend Asheville, or any of the major cities in NC really.

taking my contacts out is basically like a shot of caffeine to my system. doesn't matter how tired i am with contacts in...they come out and i'm wired. it ain't fair.

Also why the freak does Opti-Free use opaque bottles for their contact lens solution? Such a pain in the ass to not know exactly when I need to buy solution.

11 am hotel check outs are dumb and way too early.. I want to go back to sleep. Also, I drunkenly redownloaded Tinder again last night and swiped a shit ton of people right and woke up to an absurd amount of dirty messages and new matches this morning. This is why I deleted it in the first place. Ugh.

Tinder makes me lol though. I've deleted it multiple times (predominantly when in a relationship) but then I miss the fun of swiping. I have actually met a couple cool people off of it too and have a few friends in serious relationships with people from tinder. JuSt SaYiNg

This made LOL. Thank you for waking me up enough to finally get me out of bed.
And Rummy 500, I also have friends in serious relationships from Tinder & I have met some cool people too. But I only talk to one of them still. But waking up to a message that says "Last night in Myrtle, looking to get it in if you can handle it" isn't cute.

Nah that's the definition of cute. You've got it alllllll wrong
I've actually gone on a few dates with someone from tinder in the past two weeks who is really chill and we have great chemistry, I'm digging him. So of course there are exceptions to the rule. But we all know how easy it is to be like "oh s/he kewttt" then after matching, immediately regretting it because of whatever message follows. I've gotten creepsy messages from men and women alike. Less from women though because obviously we are just ~*better*~ in all ways, but it has definitely happened from both.

I really like living in the Upstate of South Carolina, around Greenville. Two hours to Atlanta, two hours to Charlotte, 3-4 hours to Charleston, one hour to Asheville. Other parts of the state, not so much. Charleston would be nice, but it's costly.
And I second the Asheville motion. I would move there in a second.
The auto correct on my phone has lost its mind. Last night I was sending a message about playing laser chase with a cat. I accidentally typed "lazer" but instead of correcting that word it changed playing and chase so it said "play on lazer Chavez".
Automatic car washes are such a waste of water.. But my car was in terrible need of a wash & I find getting a car wash relaxing.
I guess they are pretty wasteful. Next time I'll have to find one of those fundraiser ones where girls in bikinis wash it. Seems better for the environment.
