Umphreys have gotten pretty amazing with their lights. They definitely deserve a LN.
Absolutely, their late night at Mountain Jam last year was pretty awesome.
They are really stuck at their current level of popularity, but they are damn good these days and deserve to be a lot bigger than they are. They played with Big Gigantic at AllGood I would love to see a repeat of that at Bonnaroo. Or a Umph Huey Lewis superjam.

and people have been saying "umph is about to blow up" for years and years. and i think that is because people go to the shows and have their minds blown and melted. UM really does keep getting better and better. i know my respect has increased for them dramatically over the past three years.
i would love for them to graduate to larger theaters and experience more success but I just don't see it happening.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I don't really have an opinion. I'll form one when I see them at Roo this year.
i was the same way in 2009. still not a huge fan, but i def respect them live. ill most likely go see somethin else during their late night set, but ill be able to go and chill out at What on sunday night and have fun time for the set.
Their light show is pretty effin' awesome now. And you're right that they should be bigger than they are, but they probably won't ever get much bigger. Kinda sucks for them, because I think their guitarist is incredible now, but what do you expect from a country that gives multiple Grammy nominations to Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.
