Yeah, but they are nowhere near pre-headliner big. I mean, not even close. I've posted other times thinking they should be on Which so it's not like I'm underestimating them or don't think they're huge right now, but you're mad. I love them and can't wait to see them on the farm though. I saw them at Outside Lands last year and they fucking packed that place. They've only gotten bigger since. They should be on Which. They won't be pre-headliners.
I'd suggest looking at old lineups and schedules to get an idea of the types of acts that get those slots. You might also want to read around on here more before posting another uninformed assumption. Hope you have a great time at Foster! Seeya there, dude.

Ok so let's say they are around 8ish. I'm trying to think who would be in the 4-7 slots. What insider also considers "headliners". Not major names but big enough to pre. (just trying to get some good ideas going

Wilco def ain't gonna happen, as they're in Europa those dates. (maybe Belgium, even)
The Roots, I expect to be there. Raconteurs are at least a level possibility.
Sigur Ros coming back would be AWESOME. Mariachi players under Japanese lanterns, strumming Les Pauls with violin bows
Yeah I can't go this year so the percentage of the Racs being there is really high! BOOOOOO... Go figure!!
I used to live in Hickory, and I don't know if I know you primarily through the board or through my ex... but I saw that you were at the Lazy Dog the other night and I used to be there a TON. But sweet science it's a small world either way.
Yeah really small world!!! I will actually just got hooked up tonight to be there from now on, on Thursdays!! There are some other board members that frequent Ham's over on 321. Hella cool people! I am just stoked to get to play shows in my town. This is a hard market to get booked in and I am glad even if it is just a biker joint!

Dude, are you kidding me? There are more inforooers in Hickory? When I was there, it was nothing. I drank at Hamm's every once in a while, but most often at Crawdad's games.
I just posted on your FB, too. So crazy. I miss my house there, but I don't miss my life. I don't know if I will ever make it back to Hickory, but if I do, we have to go to LD, oh and oh shi! what is that bar's name that is behind the Copper Penny? The dirty bar...
You people act like lunatics when insider shows up.
I want to be Juggs hype man from here on out! Hands down his posts are the most profound (and true)! When Insider shows up now it not only shows up on here but on Facebook as well! Insider has two different websites buzzing! i am still convinced it is a marketing ploy for Bonnaroo. Surely they would have tracked down a leak like this by now. However I do not care! Leaks lineup etc. it is almost time to roll out the Initial Lineup then we can go back to arguing about who they are going to add. Then in another month we can start demanding the schedule and start arguing who is not to miss. Like one of those choose your own adventure books from back in the day all the adventures are good!

I didn't read all of this, but I support you being the hype man for Juggs.
I still find it hilarious that even with Radiohead - RHCP - Phish as our top line people are STILL trying to squeeze in another headliner-size act. Has 2010 taught us nothing? Be thankful we have three real headliners.
I don't think most people are looking for another big HL a la Macca, Prince, etc. They're wanting to know if there will be any bigger name pre-HL a la Black Keys, MMJ, Stevie, etc. At least, thats what I'm wondering. And Insider has said before that she sometimes considers there to be 5-6 headliners when the pre-HLs are included.
If I was insider, I'd be abjectly terrified of this board. Like, she's going to open her front door one day and find Karosko standing there with tears pouring down his face, holding a large knife and asking repeated questions about Neil Young.

If a need for Neil is going to drive anyone over the edge, it'd be Bacon.
I'm going to get flamed for this, but I really think the perfect additional headliner to round out the festival would be Drake. The current headliners are awesome but not extremely diverse genre-wise, and throwing Drake in the mix would round everything out well.
For those who don't think Drake could be a headliner, he's on top of the world right now. Number one album, tearing up the radio...he's bigger than Wayne was last year definitely. Not saying I want him on the farm terribly, but I would go see his show and I feel like it would be a great headliner addition to switch things up.

We had diversity in 10 and 11, diversity doesn't necessarily equate to quality (see Eminem). I want quality top to bottom. If that means tent level hip hop, so be it. I happen to think it translates better to a smaller stage, but I'm pretty sure I've beaten that horses carcass enough already.

Jay-Z in 2010 makes your argument invalid.
How? Jay-Z being an awesome show has nothing to do with how "diverse" it was, it has to do with the fact that Jay-Z is an awesome performer.
Just because Drake is "diverse" doesn't mean he'll be a good performance.

Fruck the headliner bitching. This is the first year since 2006 where I cannot find a single reason to complain about the headliners. For me personally, if ROO cut the headliners down to just two (and those two being Radiohead and Phish), I'd call this Bonnaroo's best line up since it all began.
As far as headliners go. They totally knocked this one out of the park. Everything else really is just icing on the cake.
BTW, would love to have the Flips back playing the Soft Bulletin. And AIR.
I don't know why we do this, but if we take last's year schedule and synch it up to what we have right now... Besides the fact that I don't think they'll play Friday, I don't see RHCP "opening" for Radiohead, in a sense, or vice versa. In my opinion, it's gotta be: Friday - ??? > Radiohead, Saturday - RHCP > Phish, then I guess if we just HAVE to have another Phish show, that can close out the festival on Sunday (which gives me plenty of time to get the quack out of Dodge).
I mean, I'm not even going to argue about what band is 'bigger' between Radiohead or RHCP. But those are 2 out of your 3 big headliners, I don't see them doing both back to back, unless we get another big act (which I doubt).
Phish will play Sunday before they play LN. RHCP -> RHCP isn't really that impossible as one isn't really opening for the other, and so what? Phish is arguably on par with the other two acts, so why would RHCP "open" for Phish? And we saw Stevie Wonder -> Jay-Z in 2010. We can see two arena megastars back to back this year.
