Let's just be real people. Most people would be thrilled if Phish was on Sunday - Mellow and comparable close out to WSP/DMB/etc. Leaves space for them to jam on others shows, or maybe do a LN if we are going to double down on shows. Let's just hope for this
DMB was the headliner the following year, so Phish certainly is more than capable. They headline their own festivals and if Roo is their only festival this year. They would be a huge draw and sell a lot of tickets.
I'm hopeful for Radiohead too, but Phish, RHCP, with another average headliner would be a enough of a draw for Roo.

Sunday What: >>>>>>>> Allman Brothers (6-8) >>>>>>>>>> Phish (9-12) Which: The Shins (5-6:30) >>> Eddie Vedder (7:15-8:45)
I think this is damn close, except with the Roots and Legend as well as Drake listed higher to make up for the shortage of headlining hip hop, and I'm pretty sure Adele will be there (and in the top 15). That last clue has her written ALL over it. If its not her then Gary was intentionally trying for us to get sidetracked and think it is. It think Arctic Monkeys will be on hand this year too, possible pushing vedder our of top 15.
Wishful thinking. Not sure why they're showing up in all these mocks.
well it is wishful thinking, although i do expect to see Jack White back in some form this year, and I think that is his most likely scenario of being back.
can i just say that i hope to GOD that Bonnaroo will not be disgraced by the likes of Skrillex. he is awful live and attracts nothing but quacking dbags. (saw him at Lollapalooza last year for 5 minutes...worst waste of time)

Skrillex would totally ruin the sanctity of Bonnaroo!!!!11!!!!!!11!1!1!1!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Hey those dbags sell lots of ticket bruh!
alright here's the thing. yes, they sell tickets. thats why festivals have acts like that. (I'm from Chicago; I hated seeing Em at Roo AND Lolla, also Lady Gaga at Lolla). The most noticeable difference between Roo last year and Lolla last year, of which i attended both, was the crowd atmosphere.
everyone at Roo was unbelievably nice, friendly, energetic, with the "we're in this together" mentality. at Lolla, i saw a whole lot of dbags there to party and listen to music that can be generalized as the type of crowd that Skrillex attracts. (sorry to Skrillex fans).
for my sake and everyone else's, all I'm trying to say is that I hope Roo doesn't lose its magic. i'm fine with a lot of electronic acts, Roo had MAD FREAKING AWESOME late night acts last year, i just hope that continues. and doesn't bow to the mainstreamness of acts like Skrillex.

Phish is not a number 1. They weren't number one during their comeback year, and they weren't #1 at ACL last year. Face it phans, they aren't a #1 at Roo and DMB is.

I think whether we like it or not, this is the direction most large festivals are headed. Festivals are becoming very mainstream now...and while I think its great that they are being more appreciated, it also comes at the expense of drawing crowds of people that just want to get messed up and party instead of respect the atmosphere, talent, and people that to me make the festivals magical.
I hate the fact that years down the road i'll be at Bonnaroo talking about how it "used to be". I hope i'm wrong and the Bonnaroo magic prevails, but if the crowd direction keeps continuing the way it is, I feel like the festival experience will be heavily diminished.

You should read this, re: Bonnaroo getting ruined:
I know we end up saying this every year but it seems to almost always be true. The vast majority of you guys are going to be very disappointed with the top 10 on lineup day.

I was not disappointed at all at last year's top 10. I could have done without some of the acts but it will never be perfect.
Eminem, Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic. The Black Keys, Buffalo Springfield. My Morning Jacket, Lil Wayne, String Cheese Incident, Robert Plant & Band of Joy, Mumford & Sons

i was extremely disappointed in 2010... i loved 2009's lineup but it always seems to be the stuff under the top 2 lines that get me excited. actually I've only seen 3 full headliners, beastie boys, eminem, arcade fire... well i watched most of phish but that's just cause my friend didn't feel like standing alone and i figured what the hell I'm here anyway, they just didn't do it for me, not gonna lie though they are great musicians

My mind always seem to spend a lot of this time focusing on what the headliners and biggest artists are going to be, but in 4 weeks I'm going to be super excited about seeing someone I'm not even aware exists right now.
Ya I'm not saying that disappointment with the top 10 ultimately equals disappointment with the lineup and the festival but this thread is always full of mocks that are completely unrealistic.

Seeing Radiohead and Pearl Jam as the first two names made me think it was a joke like when people put Macca-Prince-Rolling Stones or whatever. Then it became realistic with the third line with Roots/Avetts/Bon Iver etc. I don't know. Just that it's super unrealistic I guess.
It's funny because that lineup is a pretty good example of what I was talking about. I'm not giving people shit for it though. It is very hard to put together a lineup that you personally wouldn't want to see.
