(unless you count Beasties, but I don't really identify them with the rap crowd in all honesty).
Racist.
I knew that was coming. But I do consider Eminem amongst the mainstream rap acts. None of my friends into rap really like Beasties all that much, they're more popular with my hipster/alternative fans.

Yeah, there are quite a bit. Obviously RHCP & Radiohead have been talked about, but Rage/Stones/Roger waters also fall into this category, and Rage isn't that unlikely to be truthful (headlined Lolla & Coach & Vegoose & Voodoo, plus it's an election year).
She's been vague before ("a major rap act") but doesn't talk in riddles.
Didn't her comment about the band that starts with an "R" that would be at Bonnaroo come in response to a post where she had said that "at least one" of Radiohead/RHCP/Beach Boys/Foo Fighters would be there? Therefore, hasn't she said that basically either Radiohead or RHCP would be playing? She didn't just throw that out there without some sort of qualification.
No they were two separate posts, she didn't quote or reply back to back. Logic would conclude that it's one's one of the possibilities, as those two are being discussed and she didn't eliminate either yet, but she didn't confirm that it had to be one of the two. We could still see Stones/Phish/Foos/Beach Boys or Prince/Rage/Phish/Beach Boys...
All she has said is that "at least one" of Foos/Beach/Radiohead/RHCP will be there and a separate, seemingly non linked post that says "one of the bands starts with an R"
I think basically all carligula is saying is that she is screwing with us by playing off the fact that there are multiple bands that start with R that we have discussed.

I guess Waters could play the Saturday night between Chicago and Louisville, but that seems highly unlikely with the stage setup. If he's on the lineup, I wouldn't expect a full-blown Wall show, but I also wouldn't expect his band to play anything but material from The Wall. I'd put the odds around 2%

Just a guess.... But clearly Insider has some relationship to AC/Superfly, that allows her access to this information. With the impressive lineup at Coachella this year, does anyone else think she was given the go ahead to start leaking earlier than usual to counter the Coachella lineup????

i feel pretty confident that it is radiohead. my reasons which have more or less been stated by someone at one point or another:
1 - Radiohead only tours the US every few years. AC knew this was his chance to strike, especially after allegedly failing to book them last year. 2- One of the mods claims to have met AC at moog where he said he was working on booking them. 3- the 2006 show is more or less regarded as Bonnaroo's all-time greatest headlining set. if AC/SE reads these boards like they claim, of course they will go after Radiohead before RHCP.
it all just really comes down to whether or not Thom, Johnny, and the boys WANT to play bonnaroo. and i say, "why not, Thom?"
i see it as this. Radiohead * (up-and-coming headliner) * Phish * The Beach Boys

I doubt it. She's talked in the past about how she doesn't want to get caught/found out and I am not sure if they would allow her to leak info every year.
THis is bittersweet news for me. I have been championing for Paul McCartney for a long time now, almost alone in it... But I just don't see how they could come with Radiohead AND McCartney. It would be sick though. So for that reason, I am pulling for RHCP.

McCartney - RHCP - Phish X2 - Beach Boys
seems a lot more likely than
McCartney - Radiohead - Phish - Beach Boys
McCartney doesn't seem likely in general. That is a pipe dream.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

I love how everybody assumes that the BB will be #4 and it will definitely be FF or RHCP on Friday.
Is everybody assuming that?
I think people accept that as one of the more likely lineup set-ups, but I know people have been bringing up different possible Friday headliners over the past few weeks.
Did insider ever say or hint that this "R" band comes from that list that included Radiohead or RHCP, and would be what she considers a headliner (which most of us just call a BNA)? I can't remember but that's what I was led to believe.

I feel like Insider is just really cruel for leading us on if the headliner turns out to be the peppers. this is unless she loves the chili peppers herself, in which case she would be equally as excited about them getting booked as i would be about radiohead getting booked. i'm not trying to downplay RHCP, but i definitely feel like i'm not the only one who will be disappointed if it turns out not to be radiohead. that being said, i personally feel we're going to get both as Insider seems really cool and from that basis i assume she understands both sides of the spectrum. but who knows...

She didn't specifically state that but common sense would probably lead you to that point.

There are reasons why Radiohead does not seem likely in general, yet people are all over that.
And McCartney is more likely than most think, IMO. I can think of 3 major reasons why he is more of a likely headliner than say, Eminem in 2011.
I am not disputing that it is more likely that he WONT be there, but I do not think its the tiny possiblilty like so many think. Id give it 20% reasonably.

She has pointed out in the past that it's all just semantics (headliner, BNA, etc.) and what she usually talks about are just the top of the card, main stage acts.
As for your question, no....I don't believe she said or hinted that the band she was teasing was from the list of 4.
