While I think the scheduled spot for Beach Boys is up in the air, as far as B.S. Which Stage or Beastie What Stage scenario. I feel 99% sure they will not be in an unopposed headlining spot. I know they are a historically significant, some would say legendary, act, but they've lost a lot of luster over the years, and I question their drawing power as a top 3 act, unless the number one name on the bill is, over the top, big.
also I'm assuming they billed Trombone Shorty so high for the same reason the Nevilles headline and close out the fest every year: at jazzfest, new orleans artists are kings. the festival is run by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit whose goal includes the promotion of New Orleans culture and art.
Can we take these numbers the attendance numbers here as proof that N. O. Jazzfest is the largest American festival?
In the event that Radiohead plays a Saturday headlining spot starting probably at 9 or 10pm, what time would be good to arrive to get in line for the pit to be in the first 10 people in?

I wonder this question too. I would likely be seeing WHOEVER it is that plays before them, try to get up close for that, and then get in line for the pit as soon as that show ends

You'd almost definitely have to watch whoever opens for Radiohead from your spot in the pit line to definitely get in the pit for Radiohead.

The only dealbreaker in that scenario would be if the Raconteurs opened for them.
When I was waiting in line for Mumford last year, the people in line with us were okay with us leaving throughout the day, as ling as we came back within a reasonable time. Does anybody think the Radiohead crowd will be the same with their pit line etiquette?

In general people at Bonnaroo are pretty easy-going. I've never had trouble with leaving for a bathroom break, or holding a spot for a friend for a while, and I would never give someone else grief.

No, it's going to be kill or be killed. Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
(I think it would be a great crowd, if they are indeed there)

Inside info: If you want a Friday from me, just use blatant references to the original Ghostbusters. It's basically a Friday Point Pipeline.
As far as the current topic goes, I never go for pit, mainly because I am too ADHD to be able to sit in one spot all day. I just wouldn't be able to sit on line knowing that an act I came to see was on another stage at that moment. So, instead, I just go and rail-it on the left side of the What like a boss. Being not lazy has its benefits, like people not wanting to walk to the far side of the What stage and there always being space over there.
