Don't Roo and Coach typically have at least one common headliner every year? If it's not Radiohead, I doubt it'll be Snoop & Dre, so that leaves the Keys.
You say that as if Bonnaroo HAS to book one of the same acts as Coachella.
It's entirely possible that this year Roo doesn't share any headliners with Coachella.

No, I don't. I told Bacon and mc I agree with them. Just throwing the Keys out there.
I've said this before, I'll say it again: I'm very surprised everyone is assuming the Beach Boys wouldn't headline. People keep pointing to the Buffalo Springfield slot from last year, but that spot kinda surprised everyone when the lineup and then the schedule came out. It's not like that's a regular slot. I think in terms of name recognition amongst casual fans, hit songs, and rarity/excitement, the Beach Boys have what it takes to be the "old legend" headliner and play the headlining spot on Friday night (perhaps with a Phish LN), with a bigger, more contemporary band like Radiohead or RHCP playing Saturday.
I think this is based on their lineup placement at Jazz Fest. I was in the HL camp until I saw that.

Off topic, but I just want to take a minute to say that I like this like/dislike for each post system way better than the Friday/Monday or Coco/Leno system for the members. I like being able to show which post specifically I liked or didn't like. And plus, unlike the NY Jets, YOU GOTTA PUT YOUR NAME ON THAT poop.

While I think the scheduled spot for Beach Boys is up in the air, as far as B.S. Which Stage or Beastie What Stage scenario. I feel 99% sure they will not be in an unopposed headlining spot. I know they are a historically significant, some would say legendary, act, but they've lost a lot of luster over the years, and I question their drawing power as a top 3 act, unless the number one name on the bill is, over the top, big.

They'll probably play mostly unopposed, but I agree with you, they're not a top 3 band for Bonnaroo, 4-6 most likely.
Jazz Fest always has funky placement. SO I don't think that really is a great indicator either way
I'm not too familiar with their lineup placement. Can you expand?
They have a tendency to bill NOLA acts much higher than they would be at other festivals. For example the #1 band this year above The Eagles, Tom Petty, Beach Boys and all the others is Trombone Shorty.

Yeah that is a little off. I guess it makes sense in New Orleans. How many people does it draw?
Also, I know we don't really wanna think about this since they've played the last two years, but has anyone talked about the possibility of Black Keys being the contemporary headliner on Friday night?
It's been mentioned, but I don't find it plausible. They all but headlined last year (half of their set was unopposed on What and they were billed in the Top 5). And it would be their 3rd year in a row; unprecedented if they came back for a band of their stature (save WSP).

i thought that was a mistake. they never fixed it?

I'd assume they split their night as a HL with someone else. Either Beach Boys -> Phish ala Beasties/Phish '09 or, more likely, Beach Boys into Prince (with Prince coming on at 10 or 11) ala Keys/Eminem from last year.

Yeah I thought the same. No way is that the correct billing order.

here are some historical attendance numbers for jazzfest:
also I'm assuming they billed Trombone Shorty so high for the same reason the Nevilles headline and close out the fest every year: at jazzfest, new orleans artists are kings. the festival is run by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit whose goal includes the promotion of New Orleans culture and art.
They more or less headlined last year. I can't imagine they'd be back.
I said the same thing about Coachella though, so...
That's what worries me about it, the fact that they're headlining Coach. Don't Roo and Coach typically have at least one common headliner every year? If it's not Radiohead, I doubt it'll be Snoop & Dre, so that leaves the Keys. It'd be cool to see Keys after I missed them last year for BS, but I don't know how people would feel about having them for the third straight year and taking up a valuable headlining spot.
I saw Black Keys last year and I'm much prefer them in the Friday HL spot than RCHP or FF. I would actually be happy to see BK again. The new album would be great live and they only played an hour last year. So they have a ton of other songs they could play.
