I know. There's no point in assuming we get Paul and Radiohead. That's just asking for disappointment. That way, if the line-up magically includes their names, then I can freak out with excitement. If the headliners are lame, we'll work around it.
Well, lets look at the evidence. Insider just before christmas said we were on the right track. Then she came back and said we had 2/3. At that point, Radiohead, Phish and Beach Boys were all being discussed. Then she came back and said that all 3 that she knew of were mentioned in a post. Thats when we were talking McCartney - between her last 2 posts.
So, could Radiohead - McCartney - Phish - Beach Boys fit into her hints? It does not seem so.
I seem to remember a few mock lineups including Radiohead, Phish and the BB before the 2 of 3 post. Maybe they weren't all signed at that point, and finally landed Radiohead? That seems possible.
I have a feeling at some point (especially BEFORE tickets go on sale at full price...whatever that may be now... I would fully pay 350 for this as the headliners...just sayin) the music loving concert promoters and people putting the fest together say "we have a chance at something epic this year. Fu*k it. Lets do it up" and we end up with a lineup like this. With ticket prices a little higher yet again. Big whoop. Im in.
Phi, loved the Debbie Downer reference. I always temper my expectations this time of year, but having those acts at the top of the lineup would be incredible. I hope it comes true.
everybody needs to lower their expectations on getting Radiohead and Macca. We might get one of the two for Sat, but even that I wont count on.
My thoughts exactly.
I see Phish, Foo's and one more biggish act as the top three (would be surprised to see Macca, Radiohead, or Prince). Beach Boys and another couple of decent sized acts will round out the top 6.

Grohl did play the Macca event at the White House last year, and AC posted the video on Facebook. Perhaps it's McCartney, Foo Fighters, and Phish (2x)... as our top three
Bonnaroo 2008-2013
0ct 11 Pearl Jam
Oct 12 Pearl Jam
March 16 Arcade Fire
April 29 Arcade Fire
Sept 4 Wilco
Sept 9 The Hold Steady
Oct 16 Pearl Jam

that would make more sense. I am sticking to my previous McCartney - Foo - Phish X2 prediction but My hopes are now up to see Radiohead too. This is bad. This is so bad. I know I shouldn't be doing this to myself but I can't help it now. The train has already left the station.
I took the whole insider 2/3 3/3 thing to mean Phish/Foo Fighters/Beach Boys... But if you guys wanna buy into Radiohead Macca I won't stop you, I will just enjoy licking the tears off your face come line up day.
unless you see insider post it on these boards, assume it wasnt said by insider.
She was posting recently saying that people were right in some of their guesses. I doubt that the "insider" in the chat was really her but the insider who posts on here has been giving clues recently.
Weir, Robinson & Greene Acoustic Trio is HL Wakarusa this year next to Pretty Lights. Could Weir & friends take on the Jam HL position this year? I highly doubt it. But it'd be between them, Phil Lesh & Friends, Furthur & Phish. And I see Phish getting it.. I'd honestly prefer Furthur or a Dead member's group to have it. It'd add more to the show for me personally.

yes, im aware of that. thats how we got Phish, RHCP/FF and maybe BB. But i was reffering to all the people jumping on Radiohead and Macca

Though I don't think we'll get Macca this is pretty well in line with and no more unrealistic than the Bruce, Phish, Beasties, NIN beauty of 2009

That is ony the first of the 3 rounds of announcements. Not so sure they are headiners quite yet.
I doubt we'll see Radiohead, McCartney AND Phish but I don't think it's out of the question to see 2 of those. Just as some people get their hopes up, others underestimate the headliners and think Superfly has always booked on a stingy budget. 08 saw PJ, Metallica, Kanye, JJ, Widespread and Phil; 09 saw Bruce, Phishx2, Beasties, NIN, David Byrne. Hell, even 10 had 4 major arena acts and 11 didn't have too many huge acts, but more three lines of fairly big acts to the point that they had to split and double stack major acts (MMJ, Primus, AF; BK, Buffalo, Em).
Paul McCartney / Phish / Foo Fighters / The Beach Boys isn't really above their budget and is in line with past years (I'd assume it would cost as much as Bruce/Phishx2/Beasties)
Even if it's Macca/Radiohead/Furthur, I don't see how that is necessarily much more expensive than PJ/Metallica/Kanye/Widespread.
Keep in mind that not all of the 'headliners' (i.e. - early and late slots on Fri & Sat and Sun slot) have been signed, sealed and delivered yet and I only know when its done, not whats in negotiation/being finished up.It's too early for me to start playing the right/wrong game - we'll do that in a few weeks, but as far as bands confirmed so far, you guys have hit on all 3 in various posts......
AND
a lot of where these threads are going are really, really close.......I've never seen the rumors so close so early......as Meatloaf said "2 out of 3 ain't bad".......

I'm not a big Dead fan, but I love Chris Robinson! If we can't have his new side project I would be happy to settle fer the Weir, Robinson, and Greene Acoustic Trio!

van halen just announced their tour. its pretty packed with relatively short breaks but a break from june 5th to june 12th. i dont think they will play roo though cause they go from san jose to anaheim, not that they couldnt go from california to tennessee to california with a weeks time but it doesnt make sense to do that
They're in Nashville 4/27, which I'm telling myself that rules them out because I think they'd be horrible live. Saw them with Hagar in (2005?) and I wasn't impressed.
