Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Both bands have had huge years and increased exponentially in mainstream popularity. Ween haven't done anything and have only diminished in the mainstream's conscience in the past year if anything.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

People who know how the festival works. He didn't say Ween needs to quit because they haven't increased in mainstream popularity over the past year. He said they won't be invited back-to-back unless they have. MGMT, Phoenix, Zac Brown Band, The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, etc.

Plenty of bands get re-invited because they just play consistently damn good sets... Black Keys, MMJ, Noth Miss, Galactic, Ween. Do you really believe the only reason The Black Keys are back is because their new hit album is such a chart-topper? Get a grip.

Black Keys increased in popularity between their show. MMJ hasn't played back-to-back since '05/'06 and they released "Z" in between those shows. North Miss hasn't played back-to-back since the earliest days of the fest(03/02) Ween has never played back-to-back. And Galactic is a special case. They're the house band for business reasons.
A music festival like Bonnaroo generally doesn't invite bands back the next year without them making a major leap in popularity. They would rather book fresh blood. MMJ wasn't booked the next year after either of their legendary shows. Not saying anything against Ween, it's just the way things work dude.
Coulda sworn insider subtly leaked Tallest Man on Earth a week or so before the lineup, referring to him as Kristian.... but I could be wrong. Really hope he's added - he'd kill it. Only issue is he's solo acoustic so I'm guessing noon slot other tent is about the only place for him.
Jimmy Eat World - they could, they have nothing booked during Bonnaroo however it looks like they are gearing up for a European tour which has a date in Germany on 6-17
So that time in between is probably just time off.
OAR doesn't have anything booked during Bonnaroo either I would love to see them there.

I'm not saying Ween will never be back, I'm saying that without a new album or a surge in popularity, a band like that will never play back-to-back years.

I was at that Middle Brother show Friday and I thought the whole thing was terrible (outside of Johhny Corndog and one decent Dawes tune). I'm glad they won't be there! Still hoping Delta Spirit is an add though

I saw them in the city and thought it was an amazing show. All 3 acts.
I'm with you on the horrible show... I just figured it was an off night for them. My buddy loved it though. Sucked about the Dawes pianist not showing up. I met like 6 Bonnaroo people at that concert. Bonnaroo!!

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I generally like the kind of stuff these guys play (in fact after some research of all 3 acts I was pumped for the show) but it was just a massive fail all around

It was great when Johnny Corndog got pissed at that d-bag in the front row and then serenaded him while giving him the finger the whole time. Probably the high water mark of that night

In general the crowd was quite talky. I'm of the mindset that if you have paid for your ticket you can do what you want (to a certain extent) but it was getting pretty rude in there.

Justice announced via Facebook that they have a new album coming out April 4th. Seem like a pretty big name to be an add, but it would seriously kick ass to see them at Bonnaroo. I know my hope is pretty unfounded, but I thought it deserved mention- but really doesn't deserve it's own thread unless they do get added.
Justice would be fantastic. Tiesto was a late addition, so it's possible. However, highly unlikely, especially because the late night sets already seem to be plentiful.
I know it has been wished for on this thread (I'm wishing too), but Ben Harper has a nice tour gap for Roo.... Tue 06/07/11 Denver, CO Ogden Theatre Tue 07/05/11 Toronto, ON Sound Academy
