It's true that BS did not have a long go of it as a group so their catalog is small. And unfortunately they flourished in a day when there was little live recording of concerts - video or audio. I'm sure a lot of Inforooers are familiar with most of Neil Young's solo stuff. But some may not be as familiar with Stephen Stills' solo work. His first solo album showcases the talent and diversity that makes him unique. The first album also has Clapton and Hendrix guesting. I'm hoping that the setlist includes some of the member's solo efforts.
Here's a Grooveshark playlist if anyone wants to check out some vintage Stills:

Honestly.........if Bonnaroo went with Buffalo Springfield >> Arcade Fire >> My Morning Jacket on the What stage my head will explode and I will be so damn happy.
I think there's more than a few of us here who are old enough to remember when Buffalo Springfield was top 40. Then again what difference does it make? If somebody likes the music that's cool. Why would someone question that?
I'm really hoping we hear Long May You Run. It's always been one of my favorite Neil songs, and seeing as how it was technically by the Stills-Young band, or a duet between Neil & Stills, I think it's definitely in the realm of possibility.

Words can't describe how amazing that lineup is. I don't think there is another festival that could put that level of awesomeness out back to back to back. I could just settle in at the What stage and loose my leno for all 3.
Not to get off the topic of BS. I have started to go through their albums again, I can't believe I ever stopped listening to them. Can't wait for the opportunity too experience BS at Bonnaroo!
I love the old (original) recordings. But I don't get ppl trying to relive the glory days through the old bones of the current artists. I mean, I respect these people as the amazing human beings they are. I just no longer feel that is reflected in their ability to create music. And music is the whole point of Bonnaroo.
I don't mind people getting nostalgic, I just can't stand all the quacking posers on here pretending that they are actually familiar with Buffalo Springfield. It's like everyone on Inforoo is 50 years old or more. Cut the bullshit, everyone, okay? We get it. Everyone here loves music. We get that. And we know everyone here is supposed to perp like they know everything about every quacking band that ever picked up an instrument in some garage... we get that too. But seriously, cut the bullhonkey. Stop acting like every quacking band that gets mentioned is the greatest band ever or that they're your favorite band in the world, or that you know everything about everything, particularly if your balls hadn't even dropped before Kurt Cobain blew his over-rated brains all over a wall.
It doesn't take 50 years to become extremely familiar with a band that only has 3 albums... I don't understand. It's not like they are some super obscure band that only dudes that are "in the know" have any idea about. If you are into Neil Young or CSNY, you've heard of Buffalo Springfield.
You're coming off way more pretentious than anyone who pretends to know a band just to be cool.

Given their Bridge School set they will have to up their set length by roughly an hour. I imagine that Neil will get a 5 song mini set at some point during their show just as he did during the CSNY run years back.
I'm thinking the Saturday split headline scenario being thrown around here makes a lot of sense

The mix of Neil Young and Stephen Stills' guitars are always amazing.. when you add Richie Furay's voice over top, you have magic. If it weren't for Neil "Heading for the ditch" Buffalo Springfield would have rivaled any of the bands that survived past the 60's.
I saw Buffalo Springfield reunite this past October at Bridge School and they were amazing. They sounded so fucking good, nothing sounded stale or dated. I didn't realize how many of their songs I knew by them until that show. Definitely worth going to see.
I was raised on that stuff to Neil Youngs various musical enterprises were played on many a roadtrip growing up and here is keeping it real my dad used to roll a 1970's Thunderbird with T-Tops and Buffalo Springfield jammed in the 8 track player when I was in kindergarten. He even got me an 8 track to listen to in the car of the Original Muppet Movie Soundtrack to rock out to in the car it was my first real album. Ya' dig.
