Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
Yeah, those two articles definitely made me more interested in checking out his Bonnaroo show. Saw him at Moogfest, so I was planning on catching something new at Bonnaroo, but now it'll just depend on what's conflicting.

Those articles definitely make me want to see the show even more! I've seen him a lot, and it's always fun, but hearing the same-ish things makes it less appealing to see him multiple times on the same tour. Night before last at UT was cool (since it was free for me), but it's still kind of similar. He really revolutionized mashups with Night Ripper, but All Day still seems like a step backward, or perhaps a step sideways at best. A Bonnaroo-specific set makes so much sense, though. For his 3rd time on the farm and this being the 10th anniversary that features so many collabs, I can't imagine it won't be incredible.
I see him closing This Tent LN, since he opened LN on The Other in 07 and closed LN That in 09. Perhaps he'll play a really long set, like until sunrise...? One can dream.
Hey I was at that UT show in Ktown to. It was great, but seemed a tad short. At Bonnaroo I hope he does really long set cause all that bouncing just makes me happy happy! UT was the first time I had seen him though. Will be bouncing on the farm soon.

I saw Girl Talk last night at Sweetlife Festival and he put on a good show. He has decent stage presence for a guy who is just doing mashups, inviting tons of people on stage to dance and the balloons and streamers going everywhere. I had a blast at his show and next to The Strokes, Girl Talk was one of my favorite sets. I probably won't be seeing him at roo now that I saw him at sweetlife. I'll def see The Strokes again tho

Saw Girl Talks 2 night stand in Miami Beach. Went to both shows. Here's some of my thoughts
It was, no doubt an amazing epic party. His light show and theatrics are top notch, pretty much to the point where he nearly rivals the flaming lips. The energy in the crowd was amazing.
However, I really had the impression he did more on the fly mixing, and that his sets were more improvised. He basically did a nearly identical set each night . His production is amazing, and while his live shows are a shitload of fun, I don't think he's really doing much up there other then pressing play and twiddling some knobs. But I'm ok with that
All that being said, if I were going to Roo I'd probably skip him. And I only plan on checking him out at Lolla if there are no other conflicts
Not too pumped. I heard so many bad things about his knoxville show that I wasn't too sad I had graduated and missed it. He's fun and all but since they're not his songs he's practically doing nothing live.
The name of this thread should be changed to "Girl Talk is pressing Play"
You are really working your way up to one of my least favorite posters on this board quite fast.
Laggy.RETURNS, These days in terms of variation between shows, his set list is definitely not as different as it used to be, but he's becoming more popular for certain mixes and so there is stuff that he just basically has to play every night to please the crowd. But having been on stage at a Girl Talk show before and knowing at least a decent bit about laptop performance software and such, I know that he does more than just push play.
