Will there be any type of hot spot for folks with laptops that have wireless nic cards? this way we wouldnt have to wait in the lines to use their computers?
i'd be surprised if they didn't have WEP/WPA encryption or MAC address filtering setup on their wifi network. the above mentioned are measures taken to make a wifi network more secure. perhaps they will have a station where you can give them your MAC address (each network adapter has a unique MAC address) and you can have access.
as per the bonnaroo website, i kinda doubt it will be wide open =[
This year, Bonnaroo attendees can not only commune with an incredible range of music on the grounds, they can also communicate with the outside world, thanks to cutting edge wireless Internet technology powered by Cisco Systems and Charter Communications. Internet cafes will be setup within Centeroo for everyone to surf the internet. Cisco & Charter Communications have special discounts running for Bonnaroo fans. Products include Wireless-G hotspot technology, Wireless-B Media Adapters which send digital music from your computer to your home stereo, and Gaming Adapters which allow networking between two popular game consoles for head-to-head gaming! Visit Cisco Linksys on-line at www.linksys.com/splash/Bonnaroo_splash.asp and Charter Communications at www.charter.com/products/internet/internet.asp for discount details. Pros will also be on hand at Centeroo to demonstrate the new technologies.

actually i disagree teine.....i think it will be wide open b/c there is no reason to secure it......besides they will have our mac addresses as soon as we connect to the access point......there is already the potential for slow connection speeds depending upon the number of people connecting at any given time......add wep encryption to that and i can see some pissed off people due to the trasfer rate.....
but this is cisco......they want your autobiography before they will give you a d**n shirt at conventions.......so there may be something like that set up before you can use the network just so they can have customer demographics data to use/sell.......
plus, once you add encryption then you gotta have techs to fix the problems, 'my internet isn't working'......just to find out they dont have a wifi card, or the wep key wasn't put in, was mistyped or whatever.....adds more expense to the provider......

and thats why i think they'll have their computers for people to surf on... so they don't have to deal with those problems.
note: this is complete speculation on my part . ill wardrive it in a couple days and see if they have anything setup.
