Hey, everyone! As you may or may not know, I'm an officially ordained minister which gives me the right to marry people. I was wondering if anybody would like to get married at bonnaroo this year? I'll have to check out the regulations for the county first to make sure I have all the proper documentation and I'll probably only marry one couple. Anyone interested?
We are wanting to get married at Roo this year - 6/2011. Will you be attending for sure? If so, what is your cost and what do we need to do so. We would like to do it extremely simple - just us, and if we need a witness, maybe we can grab a passerby. Let me know more. Thanks!!! MJ ;D

I will reiterate this again, please confirm that the OP is not a ULC minister. I'm sure one of the lawyers that post here (there are a few) can back me up when I say ULC weddings are null and void in the state of Tennessee. I'm not trying to be a killjoy, just trying to inform the people who read this thread.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I may do it this year. If I do I'm gonna have my buddy get ordained online and have him do it. It's cool for you to offer your services! That's a good idea to pass out facebook info to everybody who's around. Were getting an RV this year and I was rhyming about doing it on top of the RV! But it would be cool to do it at the arch too. I'll post on here when I know for sure and let you guys know what the plan is. It would be awesome to have you all there!
Hey! Seriously, My girl and I are eloping to Bonnaroo. Do hit me back, we want to get married there. It would be so great, get ahold of me. Message me!
i am 100% ordained i've married 6 couples and would be happy to do this at no cost!! you would, of course, have to make sure you have all your paperwork for TN, but i will be happy to make it official i will be at the brunch this year so we can always meet up there. let me know

Hi everyone, I just googled "getting married at bonnaroo" and found this thread. My fiance and I are planning a big wedding in September 2012, but want to get married now for practical reasons (health insurance, etc.). With 'Roo on the horizon, we thought it would be a really memorable and unique way to elope.
I'm currently researching logistics with the Coffee County Clerk. Is anyone still available, qualified and willing to perform a wedding this year? Please let me know ASAP! ;D

Ready for the most obnoxious reply ever? If someone, in that time, wants to marry me...I'll do it. I know myself, and I know how I work: if some guy fancies me enough to agree to it, I'll call you up. That would be the ultimate awesomeness.

NYTimes article relevant for any of you who are seeking to have a friend ordained for the purpose of your wedding. Connecticut, Alabama, Virginia and Tennessee do not allow people to become ordained for the purpose of a wedding. This article is one of many you can find on the internet about Tennessee marriage laws being extremely strict allowing online ministers to marry you. I've been voicing my opinion in this thread since its inception to warn those a bit naive to the system.
Being a ULC minister myself (my dog is too), I've had this discussion the last 3 years specific to Bonnaroo. I have also spoken to a lawyer friend of mine; plain and simple anyone who gets ordained online (ULC or anywhere else) cannot perform any legal marriage in Tennessee.
Again, a warning to couple looking to get married at Bonnaroo: please see your ministers credentials first. ULC, Spiritual Humanism, etc doesn't fly. If you just want to have a symbolic ceremony, go for it. But your marriage will not be legal.
Sorry for being a downer, but I'm just looking out for the people getting fooled into something. Thank you.

Just curious, but what makes it 'not legal'? are you saying that the marraige licenses from Coffee County are not valid if performed by a ULC or Spiritual Humanism minister?
