Hey, everyone! As you may or may not know, I'm an officially ordained minister which gives me the right to marry people. I was wondering if anybody would like to get married at bonnaroo this year? I'll have to check out the regulations for the county first to make sure I have all the proper documentation and I'll probably only marry one couple. Anyone interested?

This is funny because me and my girlfriend talked about the idea of getting married at Roo. Its a little rediculous but someone may want to do it. Theres a first for everything

i had a dream that i got proposed too at Roo once. it was crazy. just thought i'd share. good idea though. i'm sure there's some couple out there that have gone to Roo together since it's started or met there or something so this would be cool for them. Good luck!
if you look i'm sure you'd see that nothing's really as it seems and soon enough you'd realize you promise more than you'll provide the substance that we're hoping for will always leave us needing more we're calloused til we cannot feel the only moments that were real

Kudos to you for even offering mate....
To me, this sounds so awesome. One of my favorite places in the world, with good friends, great music and a farm to die for. I hope someone takes you up and if you need a witness with horns and a clock, count me in!!!!

dude, how awesome would that be?!? a wedding @ the 10th Roo? think of the free photography! if you did it on Saturday, they could do a story on y'all in the Friday edition of the Beacon...list your email/Facebook and you'd have TONS of free pics from everybody there!
I seem to recall some guy proposing to his GF in one of the tents in '07...I think the dude passed the note to the performer? don't quote me; I've slept since then!
Aww... I want to attend a Roo wedding! Or even a vow renewal. You could have the reception at the Inforoo Brunch! I mean, we'll already have the champagne!
Sure I'll renew your vows, katbur2. The marriage certificates are about $10 a piece. herephishyphishy, just get back with me if you decide you want me to marry you. I'll perform the two ceremonies if they are on different days.

Yippee! even my wonderful but not particularly romantic husband thinks this is cool. We'll be in touch as things get closer
Be careful if anyone claims they can marry you as a minister and their ordination comes from Universal Life Church. My friend and his girlfriend were married by a ULC minister and the state they lived in didn't recognize it. I believe Tennessee is one of these states that are very tough on rogue religious organizations such as ULC.
I'm not saying the OP is claiming this, I'm speaking more to the face that people offering their services online usually are ordained by Universal Life Church. There is no real process to be ordained by this organization. It's hokey at best.

Marriages get annulled frequently due to being ULC ministers. Here's a link:
No matter who marries you, they have to be licensed to marry in that state (some states don't make ministers get a seperate license). But, if your dude isn't licensed, you can just legalize it at city hall. That's what me and my hubby did. My cousin (a minister, but his Ohio license hadn't come through) married us at our planned ceremony, and we had a judge do the legal stuff the next day. The ceremony was for us and the judge was for the state.

I already told my fiance that if, by some sort of miracle, Paul McCartney is at Bonnaroo then we will change all our plans and ditch all our family to get married at Bonnaroo!!!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
