btw thisismyname, did you see dan deacon? that's the only show of the weekend that was more fun than LCD for me...not as 'good' musically, but so much quacking fun.
I caught the second half. I stayed for all of Jay (which was kind of surprising, but he was seriously killing it so much). And I wasn't down in the dance pit sadly since I got there late, but I threw my own huge dance party of one. I think I legitimately scared some mau5 fans who were hanging about when I started screaming the lyrics too Wham City.
Does your setlist still have the green tape on it? Because if not, then you stole that Leno right out of my hands hahaha, leaving me with just the green tape :-(.
By the way, I'm a lurker just now popping up. I was dead center against the rail between Nancy and James and RIGHT next to the asian (?) guy (from Milwaukee I believe) and his friend in the Drunk Girls outfits and some kid whose backpack we in the front kept watch over... I was wearing the "This is Happening" t-shirt. The crowd in the front was intense - I was surprised I didn't have any bruised ribs from that show. I also agree the glowstick throwing was ridiculous.. I don't even understand it from the beginning? even though throwing them around in the crowd is kinda cool.... and I guess you can thank me and another person because we were the ones that lifted the fat, naked guy over the barricade for security to finally handle? (no thanks needed :-P).
Mine still has the tape, so nope wasn't me. Mine was Nancy's set list (WOOT!) which I got by asking the security guard, who was an older man, if he could reach it. He tried and wasn't able to, but after a few encouraging words, he ended up completely bellyflopping onto the stage and grabbing it. And of course after he got it, everyone around started freaking out for it, but he balled it up in his fist and went under everyone else's hands and made sure I got it since I was the one that asked him for it. Awesome guy, I'm forever in his debt.
And were you there early in the night as well? Because I think I remember meeting you as well, or at least meeting a guy that was wearing a this is happening shirt.

Yup, I was there at least 2 hours before bassnectar.

After hitting up the Keyes and the end of Bassnectar I was too beat to try and catch the entire show. The first few songs were good, but didnt keep me that interested. I ended up leaving to go watch Kid Cudi, atleast I think I did.

i dunno if anyone will be able to help me, but does anyone know the name of the track they played right before they started their set.
it's that house track with the children's vocals. it's one of those things where i've heard the track and i'm familiar with it, but i can't remember the artist/title. it's super frustrating!

you literally could not have been more than 2-3 people to my left. i was directly in front of the right-center subwoofer from bassnectar. my buddy next to me had one of those lightup shirts. i think i know who you are cause i remember the glasses...are you by any chance black? and next to phillip, the guy with the awesome home made wristband?

Haha yea that was me. I was wearing the shades probably because I was pretty intoxicated. It seemed like a good idea at the time. ;D
I recorded us v. Them also but YouTube won't effing upload it. I'll keep trying.
Oh yeah and for everyone else, he's talking about this homemade wristband:
what are the odds...we were basically right next to each other. you let me play with your glowy ball at one point. it's a bonnaroo miracle!
Yeah we inforoo ppl need hats so we can tell each other apart. I can never tell who's a roo veteran or not...unless they're passed out...or rushing the stage butt ass naked!

Good news for LCD fans LCD might be creating new US tour dates. I'm friends with a major promoter in Atlanta and he said LCD management contacted him to save a few dates at the Tabernacle in Atlanta in the fall/winter time if they want to book a show. I was super excited by the news.
Oh hey, did you camp up there or were you able to squeeze in later? I don't mind if you squeezed in ftr, I'm sure curious if I met you. I met a lot of really cool people while camping for LCD.
Also, for anyone interested...
I <3 the fine print. ;D

Was the fat naked guy BEAAAANNZ? Cuz you might have just had a pathetilebrity encounter.
I'm also late chiming into this, but I totally disagree. I was extremely let down by LCD's medicore setlist and performance, Murphy's shitty attitude towards the crowd and towards their time (he didnt seem to understand the awesomeness of the late night bonaroo set, commenting that they got "stuck playing at 2:30 in the fucking morning." Most groups would kill to play the late night friday slot after bassnectar.) I was so bummed I missed Galactic for that mediocre performance.
That being said, I saw them at Bisco and it TOTALLY made up for what I thought was a shitty performance at roo. They played at least 30 minutes longer than they did at roo, played a WAY better set (still no dance yrself clean, though ) and just seemed to be way more into it. I'm going to see them again 9/24 in Philly after their stellar perfomance at Bisco, but I STILL have a bad taste in my mouth from their performance at roo.

I'm not gonna lie, I saw them at Pitchfork and their performance was spot on! They stole the whole festival for me. I found them better than Pavement. James was spot on the whole night. It was an electric atmosphere for everyone. They sounded great and there was a lot more effort I felt like. LCD Pitchfork was a whole lot better for me then at Bonnaroo! I still had fun at Bonnaroo but James just was not focused that night.

i was only in the back stargazing at Bonnaroo but i thought they sounded great and the recording of the show is fan-fucking-tastic. saw them for real at Camp Bisco and was floored. definitely the best non biscuis set of the weekend, maybe even best set period. Murphy is a master of manipulating the audience, losing my edge was fantastic.
Another reason MMJ should play: Jim James got repeatedly pelted with glow sticks at Nashville Municipal in April, and he didn't say anything, just rolled with it. The crowd boo'd the people throwing them
