I was leaning towards Mumford & Sons because of the rarity and they are so good instrumentally, but now I'm starting to think I might want to catch Los Amigos Invisibles whole set.
although you can see TAB touring more 'often' than mumford (who by the way are currently on a us tour then a shat ton of fest's in europe, which leads me to believe they love touring as well, so they'll be around.), you only get to see them a few times at the roo........

I'm totally with the crowd here. This conflict is one of my worst. For me it'll be Avett's, their shows get better and better. Unfortunately there's almost no time after Avett before M&S finishes. Any chance we can get them on stage late?

It broke my heart to make this decision, but Mumford & Sons. I love them both, but I know the Avetts tour NC pretty often, so I can catch a show sometime after. I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to see Mumford again. I think choosing between children would be easier than this. :-\
This is one of the worst (or should I say best?) time slots on the lineup. If I were going, I'd probably see 30-45 minutes of the Avett Brothers, and then 30-45 minutes of The Melvins, and then duck out early for The Dead Weather. I'd really love to see Mumford & Sons too, but you can't win 'em all.

DRM and Jimmy Cliff conflict is killing me. Already picked Mumford over Avetts (and I'll stick with that choice until I change my mind again), but jeez, DRM and Jimmy Cliff?!?!?! Really Superfly?
Ugh, making the hard choice between seeing a legend (who might be on one of his last tours) and a hot new talent after their first album. I know, Dave Rawlings isn't really a hot new talent, he and Gillian are great together, but the DRM album is just so good.
QUESTION: Is Old Crow Medicine Show going to be there with them as their backing band? That might tip the scales to DRM.

Avetts are coming to Detroit in July so I am going with Mumford and Son. This is one of the bands that I am really excited to see. I'm really liking their stuff lately.
i think the fact that mumford and sons is international will tip the scales in their favor. i love both bands and i know the avetts put on a kickass show, but i do think they'll be touring more here than mumford and sons. (and i got to see the avetts at ACL in 2009)
plus i think both bands have cute guys, so that makes it even harder to decide.

When I saw them a few months ago, they had Ketch on fiddle/harp, Willie on guitar, and the bass player. I've heard that Benmont Tench plays some shows with them as well. I think OCMS is playing some festivals but have Bonnaroo dates off. Who knows. I am also pissed about the DRM/Cliff conflict. But I can't miss DRM, the show is too good.

is there any possibility, that with enough clamoring, they would change this?
Unlikely. Still, this is the first Bonnaroo where I have only had a few conflicts like this. Last year just before Bruce went on it was awful, Wilco vs. Mars Volta vs. Decemberists vs. Elvis Costello solo. Ouch.

Mumford, though it hurts. But Sigh No More has been my most listened to album for a couple months and they've prevented a number of panic attacks, so it's not really a choice. Plus, all of their shows I COULD get to this summer outside of 'roo are sold out.

So after some thought I'm gonna have to go with M&S. I just think I'll get more opportunities to see the Avetts and having a good spot for Prine is definitely a bonus.

ya this wasn't a conflict for me at all when the schedule dropped, avetts all the way.... but m&s has grown on me waaaaay more than i thought and i'm sure ill get to see the avetts around, m&s it is!
I made two BIG mistakes in '08. In all of my glorious rookieness I drank way too much Gatorade and vodka. Ended up drunk and passed out and missed the Avett Brothers show completely. I feel I owe them this year. Avett Brothers all the way. The other times I've seen them they have never disappointed and truly love the crowd.
