Would love to see Alice in Chains on the farm. AIC is one of my favorite bands ever, the new album sounds great (who would of thought they could find the perfect Layne Staley replacement), and both post Layne shows I have seen were awesome. However, they are not a Friday headliner. At least not in 2009, maybe in the 90's. Now if the new album blows up and they become huge again maybe. As of now, they are a preheadliner, lateight or which stage closer. IMO.

They are finishing up their North american tour and are going to play a bunch (40-50) of European dates. Most of the shows were at large clubs. HOB and similar venues. They are playing a sold out show tonight at a place called the Avalon in LA and friday in the San Abntonio Spurs arena. Most (maybe all) of their club shows were sold out. They were the Headliner for an 3 - 4 date Alt Rock touring festival called X-fest. I think they could pull off a spot at Bonnaroo just not sure exactly the stage and time.

Agree with you about them def. notheadlining, but they could play the which stage or early What stage shows or late night based on the crowds at the shows ive been too and the success they are having on the current tour, and bands that i have seen in each of those settings at Roo over the years.
i also just found that minus the bear is putting a new album out later this month, could be a possibility they come back to the roo with some new material.
edit: i misread the article, they are releasing their new single on Oct 27, the new album wont be out till early 2010.

Either way, i'd like to see them again.. i thought they were good in 08, although the two people i was with disagreed and left to see tegan and sara (i think)..psht losers
Friday: RHCP (headliner) or Jay-Z- Headliner What Stage [Foo Fighters, if this happens we will get them then, Them Crooked Vulters will be there Ghostland- late night Which Stage Flaming Lips- late late night Which after Ghostland
Saturday: White Stripes- only if the Stones are headlining Rolling Stones OR Paul McCartney- What Stage Muse- late night What Daft Punk- late late night What
STS9- during the day Thievery Corp.- during the day
Sunday: Monsters of Folk- What DMB- to close out What
Robert Randolph- tent during the day (also does a guest spot during DMB) Umphrey's- historically play on even roo years
I also think that we get a Blakroc themed tent during the day on Friday or Saturday, as well as either Bassnectar or Chemical Brothers to close out a tent. I don't think that its realalistic to think that we get both of them although I really would love to see them there. One other thing that is running through my mind would maybe a bassnectar or chem. bros. into a late night Daft??

I know this will come off as me being down on Ghostland, but it's more me being really high on the Lips. I'm pretty sure if the Lips come back this year they will rule Saturday late night Which by themselves.
Do you think Vampire Weekend will be there? I haven't read through this entire thread yet because it's five pages long, so I'm sorry if that was a dumb question... Their new album (the first in quite a while) is coming out in January, though, so it seems like they'd be a pretty good choice.
Ide say Vampire weekend have a huge chance of going due to the release of the new record. I really want to see Paul McCartney even if it is probably impossible. Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Devendra Banhart, Arcade Fire, Deerhunter, Super Furry Animals, Air, Camera Obscura, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Destroyer, The Walkmen, Jens Lekman, The New Pornographers, Belle & Sebastian, Japaniods, The National, Caribou, Battles, Wolf Parade, The White Stripes, Allman Brothers or The Dead, Phoenix, Yo La Tengo, Sunset Rubdown, Broken Social Scene, and Beirut, Roots... Ehhh I think thats good enough? If next years Bonnaroo gets half of this list I will be more than happy.
Others that were already there this year which I want to see again would be, Andrew Bird, Decemberists, Wilco, MGMT, Girl Talk. Grizzly Bear, and Animal Collective.

Yea I can see Vampire Weekend playing. If they hadn't played Thursday in 2008 I would say they wouldn't be back so soon. But with a new album out in January, and their ever growing popularity, I'd say Roo would like to bring them back for a victory lap of sorts like MGMT's this year.
Also that is one hell of a list. Of that list I'd say a bunch are overdue to play Bonnaroo. Sufjan (Although I think he's the least likely) The Arcade Fire Deerhunter The Walkmen Jens Lekman Belle & Sebastian Wolf Parade Beirut
I'd also love to see back either because I missed them on the farm in past years, or they were there this year and had a great set. Phoenix (Give them a full late night set. Anyone who was privileged to see them will attest to their perfect set) Broken Social Scene (Full lineup, I saw it happen in Toronto this summer, I can see it again at Bonnaroo) Radiohead (Obviously) Flaming Lips (Playing a different setlist than the one I saw this summer) Grizzly Bear (See Phoenix)
Friday: RHCP (headliner) or Jay-Z- Headliner What Stage [Foo Fighters, if this happens we will get them then, Them Crooked Vulters will be there Ghostland- late night Which Stage Flaming Lips- late late night Which after Ghostland

In all seriousness this is the only mock lineup I have seen, which I can legitimately say would send me to festivals other than Bonnaroo. I doubt they will get that commercial, but if they do I would really consider not going.

The only thing I would like to predict is the Sunday Metal/Heavy Rock tent. Which by the way is the greatest thing Roo has to offer. I love going to the loud and thunderous rock shows in the early Sunday Afternoons. Highlights last year included High On Fire, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Cage the Elephant.
Who should be invited to participate in 2010's rock your ass off tent? Here is some predictions:

I am going to go out on a limb here and recommend Anvil. . Who can resist "March Of The Crabs"?
I wouldn't be surprised if they got Anvil to play. They've gotten so much attention this past year from that documentary. They went from being nobody's to back on top. They deserve it too.

I love the metal that Roo offers, but is it just me, or is Sunday the worse possible day? By sunday I'm sleep deprived, hung over, and worn out, and the last thing I want to hear is hardcore metal. I wish they'd move the metal to Thursday or Friday. Mastodon in 08 and Dillinger Escape in 09 rocked though, no matter how tired and hung over I may have been
