I move that, it being July 1st already with a holiday on Monday, that we move on to Scrog's successor and allow Scrog a single post to respond to lingering questions.
Do I have a second?
You went all Mafia ref on this thread... I like it
That's not solely reserved for Mafia, that's just general competence fueled by that Protestant work ethic and German knack for efficiency. That, and we former BMOTMs feel something like caretakers of the thread. When's the last time you saw nodepression in here, anyway?
I have privately contacted someone I think would make a good BMOTM and am awaiting a response.
I'm assuming he would get a lot of questions, considering he claims to have an army one hundred strong...

This thread has slowed down plenty of times, but it has kept moving for over two years now. Do you really think a two-day delay is going to stop it? Not that I want to shortchange anyone his or her time as BMOTM. I'm just not sure it's such a big deal that you needed to take charge of it just yet. (Also, I just like calling you an asshole. It's one of my favorite things. )
I am on vacation. I have limited inforoo access, I am on my phone, and I will finish answeringyjr last y12 hrs of question on Sunday when I return. I apologize got delay

Why Popsicle, Sarah?
Also, at WSP, you seemed busily engaged in some activity involving accumulating glow sticks while the rest of your crowd sat very still and quiet. What were you doing? How'd it go?

Will 1700 glow sticks be enough of a start for the Glowstick Sidewalk and the Sidewalk Expansion project? Who is your favorite inforooster that you haven't met in person? Which All Good set are you most looking forward to? Besides high fives, what goes best with Sublime? Besides Sublime, what goes best with high fives?

Should I do harm? If not, why not? What do you have against harm? If an army of people against doing harm was confronted by an army of people in favor of doing harm, who would prevail?
Let's get this started fer our new BMoTM! Here's an easy one to start off with: What is the meanin' of life, the universe, and everythin'?
There's a bunch of meanings for these words, but I'll give you just a few...
life - noun - the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
universe - noun - the totality of known or supposed objects and phenomena throughout space; the cosmos; macrocosm.
everything - pronoun - every thing or particular of an aggregate or total; all.
Popsicle was a nickname that my former best friend Steven gave me after a night of drinking then eating popsicles outside in the middle of January. Apparently I said that I turned into a popsicle and he went with it. Obviously no one really calls me that (well actually I guess they do now lol), but I thought it made a cute screen name.
Also, at WSP, you seemed busily engaged in some activity involving accumulating glow sticks while the rest of your crowd sat very still and quiet. What were you doing? How'd it go?
Oh yes! A longtime dream of mine was fulfilled that night. I'd always had a strong desire to collect hundreds of glow sticks and then launch them off of a blanket during a show, but I have a pretty intense phobia of crowds that kept me from doing it. Well, at the Super Jam Sunday night my new friend Sam shared some corn with me that took all my fears away. Not sure who mentioned it, but the idea came to us to complete this mission. He was just as into it as I was (or maybe he was humoring me heh) and so at WSP we set off on our journey. I was focused like I've never been before. It was like my mission in life was to collect glow sticks. I would venture out into the crowd and return to our group with handfuls, then go hunting again. I met many people who I promised I would come back and hang out with once my mission was complete (that was the corn talking haha). We left and came back, left and came back until we had just the right amount (or maybe we were actually tired of fetching). We then collected some people to help us and we set on our way to the middle of the crowd. With a loud "1... 2.... 3...." we sent our treasure hurling into the night sky. It went by so fast I barely remember it. It looks very different when right under the glow stick launch. There were "Woooo's" from the surrounding partiers and handfuls were picked up and thrown until all the glow sticks in the vicinity were sent away for others to enjoy. I remember being slightly disappointed that it was over and it was almost the end of Panic's set. I rejoined my crew very satisfied that I'd actually had the guts (although corn-induced) to check that activity off my bucket list. I bet I had the biggest goofiest grin. One of the best Bonna-nights of my life. ;D
^ oops...the excitement caused me to forget my questions!
1. Do you know who Luke Perry is? What about Digital Underground?
2. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 being "total snoozefest" and 10 being "scream your fool head off amazing"), how awesome is having a date in a hot air balloon?
3. Should the person who invented Sweet Tea Vodka be given: a ginormous raise, an honorary degree in Om Nom Nomness, a national holiday dedicated to drinking the stuff, or all of the above?
Will 1700 glow sticks be enough of a start for the Glowstick Sidewalk and the Sidewalk Expansion project?
It'll be enough for a Glowstick Sidewalk and Expansion for Soundtribe on Thursday night AND Furthur/Umphrey's Friday night! And probably enough for all our festies until Glasto '13
Who is your favorite inforooster that you haven't met in person?
Oh man! I've met A LOT of inforoosters over the past few years...
Looking at the members list has made me realize how many inforoosters I have already met... easily hundreds. And I consider a lot of them to be very good friends. I can honestly say that Inforoo has changed my life. Hell, I met the man of my dreams who turned out to be my soul mate at the 2010 brunch.
Of the ones I haven't met, I don't have a favorite... I want to meet them all!
Only 1 word can describe the level of joy I feel at this momentous revelation:
That's exactly the reaction I had... for about 2.5 seconds... until I realized what that meant. I have severe performance anxiety and don't generally like being the center of attention. I've said no to the title a few times before because of my fear, but I have vowed to myself to work on conquering my fears after the Sunday night @ Roo WSP Glow Stick experience. And no, I didn't have any corn before doing this
1. Do you know who Luke Perry is? What about Digital Underground?
I do. I was obsessed with 90210 as a pre-teen/teenager. (Remember, I'm older than you think I am ) Digital Underground... the Humpty Dance? I could be way off on this though...
2. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 being "total snoozefest" and 10 being "scream your fool head off amazing"), how awesome is having a date in a hot air balloon?
It's about an 11! I enjoyed it the most of any birthday present that I've ever given to somebody
And... did you know I gave him that gift before we were even dating? (it was much later when we actually went) I'm pretty sure it's why he fell for me
I'm sure we will go ballooning again, hopefully sooner rather than later...
3. Should the person who invented Sweet Tea Vodka be given: a ginormous raise, an honorary degree in Om Nom Nomness, a national holiday dedicated to drinking the stuff, or all of the above?
Definitely all of the above... and MORE! I seriously can't keep that stuff around... I would be an alcoholic for sure! (No, I don't think I'm an alcoholic, now anyways heh.)
If an army of people against doing harm was confronted by an army of people in favor of doing harm, who would prevail?
Depends on what you think prevailing would be in this situation.
The army in favor of harm would physically win if there was a clash. It would be so one-sided because the army against harm wouldn't have any weapons. But the army against harm would ultimately prevail in the game of life/karma/brownie points, etc because they didn't sacrifice their morals for mere physical survival.
Now, I'm not saying I don't believe in self-defense. I personally would not be prepared to defend myself because I refuse to let go of my naive idea that I shouldn't need to since the message of Do No Harm will spread over the earth like a plague and make the world a happy harm-free place. Many would call me delusional, but without hope my will to continue spreading the message would wane.
I may be over-sharing at this point... but as a young adult I was very deeply impacted by a violent crime against a family member. The way my family reacted after the murder conviction has been a huge reason why I have latched on so strongly to the DNH message. My aunt spoke during the sentencing hearing and pleaded with the judge to spare the convicted man's life. I wasn't involved in DNH til years later, but the memory of that selfless act by a woman who had her youngest son taken from her passes through my mind every time I give out a pin or sticker or wrist band.

Call me an asshole all you want. I'm an egotistical, long-winded, self-indulgent asshole who only got a 27-day month myself, and I don't want to see others shortchanged like I did. Scrog seemed to announce that he was gone through most of the holiday weekend, which turned out not to be the case. He said he'd come back Sunday, which best case would have given a 28-day July to his successor. That's not cool, so I tried to recruit someone. Had I known Scrog was going to return before July 3rd, I wouldn't have done so. But to not have your successor named by the first of the month, that seems like a bit of an abdication to me. So I took action. Apologies to Pondo... I do think you'd be a great BMOTM.
Who is your favorite comedian? Which extracurricular activities were you involved with in high school? What was the first concert you attended? What was the first album you bought? I heard you got your name by giving out Popsicles at bonnaroo even though that seems not to be the case, if you did give out Popsicles (which sounds like a dandy idea), what flavor would they be?
Meh, I think she's funny the first time you see/hear her. After that it's pretty much all the same. And I wouldn't be surprised if we find out in a few years that she's really a man.
Never read it or watched the movie. I know... how un-"american female" of me huh? It's one of those things that I've always meant to do, just never got around to it I guess.
Probably a tie between The Princess Bride and Cold Sassy Tree. I don't read much fiction these days. I prefer autobiographies and books to help me in my career.
I've never been huge into movies, but my all time favorite is Clueless. I can enjoy that movie any day, any time. I've been to the movie theater probably 5 times in the last 5 years.
I wouldn't say I've ever had a favorite and I find it nearly impossible to keep up with any shows except through Netflix. I like True Blood a lot. Others I enjoy are Mythbusters, An Idiot Abroad, Survivor and Chopped.
