Worst conflict as in the Which stage is going to be crazy packed for Byrnes show I feel. TMV/Decemberists is worse because i have to miss The Decemberist, and NIN/moe. is pretty horrible as well, although hopefully moe. will just play a decent amount later than NIN.

I love NIN but it's "angry" music at times and depending on what frame of mind I'm in it may just drive me over to the happy music of .moe.

I think The Downward Spiral was NIN's last "angry" album. Reznor's music has gotten significantly less heavy since then, but moe. will definitely be awesome.

It's possible to make "angry" or even "heavy" music that is positive -- RATM, Public Enemy, Michael Franti all do it. I'm not sure Reznor does that, but hey, I'm glad NIN is at Roo since so many of you want to see him.

Roo is every emotion available, and it's perfect! Anger is a Gift even if you bite the hand that feeds~! ;D
I'm dead set on being at all two hours of Byrne goodness. It's tough missing Beasties, but I'll survive. Actually, I think that Saturday night is the hardest. I'm split between Harper and NIN, but in the end I think I'll go to the Hendrix-esque Harper and finish off with being 15 minutes late to MGMT.
yeah they really should have staggered Beastie/Byrne. Beastie 8:30-10:00 Byrne 9:30-11:30 Phish start at 12. Obviously they are giving Phish a kind of headline spot (for an hour anyway) its just a bit later at night (as we had discussed might happen in other threads). So pretty much because of Phish's mini-Fri. night headline a tough choice between two of the top acts must be made. Oh well such is life.
And Yes the worst for me was last year BB >Levon > Zappa Zappa won for me hands down and I don't regret it one bit.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."
I'm just glad The What and The Which are right next to each other
THIS!!! Made the conflict MUCH easier to handle! The slight off timing too - thinking Beasties for a while and then most of Byrne. Just saw Beasties in a small place on their election tour - and positive they will bring it at ROO!!! Seen a smaller show with Byrne (even got the set list that he walked all over ;D), and it was to die for. LOTS of Talking Heads and lots of his stuff which is amazing. I bet I will debate this one up until it happens though. I had a hard time with Flaming Lips/Gov't Mule/Galactic - and this won't be as hard to figure as that decision was.

Seriously - WHAT? What is wrong with my post this time Jugs? This is on topic...I am stating what others are...if it's the bright orange hair and it really makes you feel punched in the face I can change the pic!?? OH, wait - I mean punched in your brain...sorry to misquote you.
That may be the biggest conflict this year but not the worst ever. Actually I'm personally more dumbfounded that considering snoop dogg is the only thing I have on my sunday schedule it managed to conflict with not one but both Michael Ian Black/Michael Showalter/Aziz Asari comedy sets, which is far and away the only comedians I was absolutely looking forward to seeing this year. Still, knowing how many people were piled into Saturday and Sunday and the fact that it all worked out reasonably well I have to give credit the schedule as it came out. I only pray they don't muck it up for me from here in, though I wouldn't complain if they tossed another comedy set in any other time on Sunday.
Byrne and Beastie Boys will be a very tough call, but I will probably watch David Byrne (especially if Brian Eno joins him). For me the worst conflict, this year, is Nine Inch Nails and Ben Harper and Relentless7. I had ranked the bands that I wanted to see the most and Nine Inch Nails was number 1 and Ben Harper was number 3. Oh well, at least my numbers 2 (The Mars Volta) and 4 (Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3) play fairly unopposed (as far as my music tastes go).

I didn't know smiley faces made your head bleed....awww...I love you too guys; jugs and fightforyourmind. Even if you hate on me I will stay happy and LOVE the HELL out of you!!! Especially if you're gonna post hatemail after everything I put whether it is completely off or on topic. I am done fighting with you guys - if that makes you feel better keep hating on me. I refuse to hate you. In the end we're all going to enjoy the weekend together anyway!!!
^ In your defense, while I'm generally the type that wouldn't condone all caps and multiple exclamation points, Bonnaroo excites my emotions to such a degree that I'm tempted to do so myself.
I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT ROO!!!
There, much better.
The random capitalization is a bit much for me, though.

I wouldn't worry about it. It looks like misplaced attraction. They hate but, they want to love.
while a tough decision, definitely not the worst conflict "evar". IMO the Ben Harper/Ween/Keller conflict of 07 was probably worse than the byrne/beasties conflict.
i'll be at the beasties. i'd like to see david byrne but i've only recently been getting into him or talking heads while i've been listening to beastie boys for years and have never seen them live. also because i will get a primo spot for my most anticipated show of the weekend.

I once had BBoys/RATM tickets back in the day when they were on the Rhyme and Reason tour, but Mike D broke his clavicle during a bicycle wreck so the tour was canceled. That was the biggest disappointment of my life, so I cannot miss the Beasties because they never come to Indiana. Plus, I'll get a decent spot for Phish. I'd love to see Byrne, but not near as much as the Boys.

i'll be at david byrne, no question. my biggest conflict is still NIN/MGMT, although i'm thinking of leaving NIN early so i can dance my face off for MGMT's set...i really don't want to miss a minute of them!
I agree, I have seen them from the *0's several times in the 90's and twice in this century. Now that I feel old by pointing that out. David Byrne is a show I would never miss, So for me its all of Byrne and a little Beastie Boys

i had tickets to this show, and green day and busta rhymes were on the bill. One of the worst concert disppointments of my early years.
I dislike this conflict mucho also, my friend said David Byrne was the best concert she has ever seen, and he is coming to DFW on Sunday the 14th, so i will miss that chance to go with her also. not to mention the fact it conflicts with Phoenix either. I definitely want to see the Beastie Boys and thats what my group wants to do also. At least Phoenix is at ACL this year and i can see them there, I will have to catch the end of Byrne's set.
