just the fact he put his albums up for free on his website is fucking awesome. sure he wont be making bank but now all of these people who are going to bonnaroo who havent heard of him are like "hmm who's pretty lights im gonna look for his music for free... oh its on his website for free?" thats awesome!" i mean hey its what i did.... and now im getting into it. i'd say for a thursday night dj show (if that is when he's playing) itll probably be pretty packed.

mad respect for a musicians who posts their music up, not only to stream, but download also, i think that's awesome. as i understand musicians need money too, but at the same time something as great as music should be free
"Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made." Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Soul of Man Under Socialism
"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
^ I don't think so, but I'm only judging by the way each of them make my body move.
I'm definitely going to check him out at Waka, and if the time allows I might stop by at 'Roo as well. I have a lot of friends that are into it, I haven't found myself too impressed, but I'm going to keep on listening and see what happens.
Ive seen PL at least a dozen times now and it is always a good time. They mix up how the music is made pretty often. Sometimes its decks and drums, sometimes its all monome. They keep it fresh.
Man that shit was awesome. He had a two hour set, and it was actually more crowded for him than for Dieselboy. Granted, Dieselboy didn't start until 4am. Best thing was that I got in for free even though I may have not been on the list. I win a lot of free tickets for that venue and doorman knows me by now, so he didn't even bother looking for the list and just sent me in, so I had a nice $50 extra for drinks.
Well, I guess if you want to get your groove on and listen to a dj set then you should go see him. I typically would like something like this, but his style is really boring and predictable. There are hundreds of artist that sound like him. I honestly don't see where the hype is coming from for him. Don't get me wrong you can definitly dance to his set, but if you are someone who is looking for something inspiring, you are not going to find it at a pretty lights show.
....and im having alot of trouble understanding the RJD2 comparison.
for some reason i read this as "the name just makes me not want to see him" and i was left wondering why anyone would not want to see some pretty lights...
