I viewed tonight as a warmup for bonnaroo, although the crowd was definitely into applauding them they werent all about dancing. i expect ten times more from bonnaroo, my friends who arent going didnt want to hear about it. They will own Thursday night.
Score! I am in Baton Rouge for orientation and just here for tonight & tomorrow. I was eating in a diner checking out the live music venues and saw this band is playing tonight so we are going to check it out tonight! I'll let ya'll know what I thought tomorrow. Totally random find. If I wouldn't have already looked at the Roo scheddule a billions times I would have never recognized the name
Ditto. "Sleepyhead" is pretty good, but the rest of it... I mean, is he SERIOUS?
I can't listen to his high-pitched voice singing about "crying tears like diamonds" and "the speed of love" without giggling. But hey, I guess he's not trying to write a Harvard thesis or anything.. so whatevs. I'll probably stop by the show, at least to hear the one song.
P.S. This reminds me of The Postal Service or Death Cab.
Oh so much fun!! Danced my a$$ off! Not my usual type of music but loved it! Could have either been: A) they simply rocked, or B) Jack Daniels , Blue Moon & Corn Talked to lead singer after and he was really cool. Awesome fro, might I add!
I had never heard of these guys until they were announced. I have convinced my friends to accompany m to this one on Thursday. Question: Their songs, especially the longer ones, are intricate and complex. I was wondering, however, if they "jam" out a little during their live shows?
