Probably won't eat dinner tonight because I had a late lunch... hamburgers on the grill. Soooo good! It was such a gorgeous day here, it seemed like everyone in the neighborhood had their grills going.
Great crock pot recipes! I don't use mine nearly as much as I would like because I'm gone during the day for about 9 hours at a time. Almost all of my recipes call for it to cook for 5-7 hours. I wish I had one with an automatic timer... I suppose that's how others are able to use theirs as often!
^^^^ - you can do a roast - or just about anything else if you are going to be gone that long - just put it in the crock pot frozen - by the time you get home 9 hours later - it will be perfect
dinner tonight is cheddar-broccoli soup and grilled cheese (we skipped the grilled cheese last night)
It's turned chilly here again (chilly being relative to those of you that are North of me - it's in the upper 40's/low 50's
Stuffed pasta (frozen...I took the easy way out) with homemade sauce (red/orange/yellow peppers, garlic, spinach, scallions, white onion, cayenne pepper, roma tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar) and a spinach salad.
chico, how'd the tamales turn out? Care to share the recipe if they were good?
They were a little rough. Give me another shot at them and I'll share the recipe when I get it right. I was working off a transcribed one from my grandma's memory that had some fairly serious errors, like telling me to cook them in a double boiler rather than a steamer.
I'd like to go out somewhere nice tonight, maybe one of the fancy local Italian places. Fettuccini alfredo sounds really good right now. Just have to find someone who's willing to let me buy them a nice dinner... harder than you might think.
LOST menu: Seasoned pork roast and baked asparagus with a balsamic butter sauce... and maybe some potatoes if I'm up for peeling them when I get off work.
I had long-grain and brown rice, topped with beans, onions, sun-dried tomatoes, scallions, and carrots that were pan-fried in olive oil. I have a feeling I'm eating far too many starches.
Hmmmm....I had a granola bar and a beer. I think Wolf needs to convince some of his like minded friends to move south! Nothing a Southern Girl loves more than a Man who knows how to make that all important Southern Specialty - Reservations! ;D

I just made tuna steaks with soy ginger and sesame marinade, chopped yams with honey and cinnamon, and asparagus. It was pretty dank. I should've taken a picture! ha

Mmmmm...that sounds amazing.
Soup, salad, sandwiches last night with a smoothie for dessert. It's the easiest way to ensure my little girls get enough fruits and vegetables.
