I just dont know how 2 dudes and a mc are going to entertain 80,000 people. I Love there music but idk i never seen them live do they have some kind of back up band or something?
like this?
I'm sorry but those two festivals are like nothing compared to bonnaroo! I would understand if it was a festival that was smaller but Bonnaroo. The festival that put on headliners like radiohead, tom petty, tool, the police, metallica, and pearl jam! I mean this is all in my opinion I Love their music and everything I just dont see it. I also didnt see Jack Johnson headlining last year and had arguments about that as well....just IMHO beasties are big enough to headline bonnaroo!

you won't have any questions after they rock bonnaroo.
I was talking with the guys from Blitzen Trapper last night, they say that they will not be a Bonnaroo, despite an offer, because their bassist is getting married over the Bonnaroo weekend.
Its too bad they are great live.
quack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you talk to the guys from Fleet Foxes perchance?
No, I asked they said that they were not sure, but they said that they seemed to think it was possible.

WHO IS DOUBTING ON BEASTIES!?? You have to see "Awesome I F***ing Shot That" - your doubts will be done for...they could entertain the WHOLE planet if given!!! I have to stick up for them man!
Have to agree Beastie's it is. Oh I'd love and certainly prefer the Dead but I don't think it will happen Rothbury is going to get them..not that they couldn't or shouldn't do both but they won't....esp. considering the lineup we already have for 'roo
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

Someone hated on me cause I stood up for Beasties! Hehe...oh well - it was worth the smite! I love them! I agree - I suspect The Dead at Rothbury as well, but I still have hopes for some Dead action at Roo - seems weird that none of them would be there, when they always are!!! Isn't Warren Haynes playing with them also? He is already there...hmmmmm!??

They may not be happy about the way Lesh was Kanyed off the stage last year.

Just scanning this post, I thought it was about Warren playing with the Beasties.
Wouldn't surprise me.
Now I'm wondering what the coolest Beasties song for a Warren guest would be...

Warren plays with most people..hehe..and I think that is great! I never thought of him with Beasties though. He did have Coheed at his Xmas jam...and John Paul Jones...I could for sure see him do something at Roo with JPJ again! That was way killer!

Not to take the subject off Warren, but I've seen Byrne once and it was AMAZING!!! I would totally freak if there was some jamming of Talking Heads songs! Wonderful!!!
I have a gutt feeling Superfly is not don whatsoever. They got the lineup out early to piggyback off the Phish tour announcement/ticket sales and to beat the Rothbury lineup.
They just saw Langerado close up shop because for poor ticket sales and want to make a statement about Bonnaroo still being the best in the land.
I LOVE the lineup thus far, but feel it is quite top heavy. I so believe and hope to see some big names announced...
My guesses: Janes Addiction Oysterhead Flaming Lips STS9 Fleet Foxes Thievery Corp Disco Biscuits Umphrey's McGee Matisyahu Cheech and Chong Tim and Eric
Yes, that seems like a lot (Because it is) but go back and compare lineups from the past years...eventhough our headliners are HUGE and AMAZING...the second tier of bands is truly lacking.
Tickets bought...countdown started...already making the packing list...can not wait!!! Bonnaroo!!!
Dude you said everything I came to this thread to say. Props. Umphrey's, STS9 and Bisco are all a MUST. I'll also add Lotus and Pnuma Trio to that list. We need more late night jam dance parties.

I think it would be a smart move by roo to give us the first round of additions before rothbury's lineup is announced. I know a lot of people (including myself) want to see who is on rothbury before making a final decision. If roo gives us more names before rothbury has a chance to give any, it might turn some fence sitters into roo ticket getters.
What about Andy Samberg? He does the SNL Digital Shorts, and just came out with the new album The Lonely Island... It would be awesome if he came for the comedy tent!!!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

A friend took me to see Talking Heads in D.C. back in the late '70s (77?). They played the Bayou, in Georgetown. Hadn't heard of them before. Despite looking like a bunch of Young Republicans, they were as you say, "AMAZING."
yeah, if the Lonely Island guys came (I still want to see Flight of the Conchords, though) and Buckethead... I think my Bonnaroo 2009 experience would be complete. Holy shit.
Buckethead would be insane!!!! hes mos def on my "hopes list". from what i gather the FLips are in England that weekend playing a festy with Prodigy ( how sick could that be?) a Sphongle addition would be nice as well as the likes of Cake, Caribou, Pretty Lights, STS9, Umphrey's, PNUMA , Matisyahu, Public Enemy, Collective Efforts, Crystal Method, The Wailers, 311, Andy McKee, quack, this list could go for days
There's not a thing worth remembering When tomorrow can bring someone new Get used to the thought You can't be what you're not Life has already got plans for you

they headlined at langerado last year. i watched the whole set, they did a mix of rap, and then they all got on instruments and jammed a bit, overall it was super boring and one of the most forgettable performances ive ever seen...
