i'm hoping for some dead too, but i also found a possibility for an early afternoon add, A Hawk and Hacksaw. They are touring with Andrew Bird on one leg of their tour, and Wilco on the other leg, both of which are playing at roo.
This has been covered ad nauseum in other threads, but my understanding is that Superfly tabbed The Dead to headline Outside Lands and Phish to headline Bonnaroo. I think their reasons for doing so are obvious enough.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

^^^no, i'm just saying they are powerful enough to have picked both bands if they wanted to and just totally destroyed everyone and everything. Kind of joking. But they should balance and spread the love of different bands to different festivals... so I get it.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey

This would be sweet. I hadn't heard that yet . The Dead in San Fran would be sick. Plus, I like that it's in August rather than right after 'Roo.

Before anyone gets mad, this is my opinion. There is no such thing as a better lineup set in stone, it is all opinion. So... Rothbury has blown roo' away for me. Roth has taken all the right music and somehow organized it for the second year in a row. While roo' aims to please everyone, rothbury has stayed the course and I am glad for myself and others like me who will be enjoying it. I think roo' has a great lineup and would love to go as well. If I can only chose one this year, it has to be rothbury.

I respectively dissagree. wouldnt be the first time for a Chelsea and Newcastle fan to do so... I agree that most is based on personal opinion but I dont see how you can say Bonnaroo tried to "please" everyone. Bonnaroo did it big this year with the lineup and Rothbury just coupldnt compete $ wise.
If i lived in South Florida or somewhere far away from these festivals i would without a doubt attend BONNAROO this year. The lineup is amazing and we still have additions to come.
I do agree that Rothbury did a decent job working with what they had.

In all honesty I would rather have gotten the Dead than Phish but I am going to have a great time no matter what. I REALLY doubt that Roo will get the Dead this year....but some form of the dead? maybe...I see Bob Weir and Ratdog playing Allgood, it wouldn't surprise me if they showed up at Roo.

Ditto...why would you want the same type of bands playing over and over and over again to the point ad nauseum...but I will agree that Rothbury is staying true to its hippie fanbase which is not me...have fun jamming out with the jambands whereas I'll have fun jamming with the jambands, rocking out with the Boss, hip hopping w/ BBoys, and headbanging with whoever....and we still have additions to come
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I must say, seeing the Cold War Kids on there, gives me hope they may make it to roo...
Chromeo Black Crowes Back door Slam STS9 Les Damien Marley
All of these would be great adds! If roo adds these I will be extatic.
To me, seeing CWK on there makes it less likely to be at Roo. It seems they've added a bunch of acts who aren't going/unlikely to be added to Roo.
I'm not saying it's impossible.....just that I thought CWK would be on the initial lineup if they were going. I still have hope for Dr. Dog and Michael Franti but i'm thinking CWK and Back Door Slam will be staying at Roth and not Roo.

not sure if its been mentioned yet, but Devotcka's tour has a nice gap in it that makes 'roo look possible, not to mention they're with david byrne afterwards. i think they'd be a great add, and they havent been to 'roo in a few years
3/16/09, Kansas City, MO, The Beaumont Club 3/17/09, St.Louis, MO, The Pageant 3/18/09, Des Moines, IA, Peoples Court 3/19/09, St.Paul, MN, Myth 3/20/09, Milwaukee, WI, The Rave 3/21/09, Chicago, IL The Riviera Theatre 3/22/09, Cleveland, OH The Agora Theater and Ballroom 4/30/09, Rome, IT, Sala Sinopoli 5/07/09, Estarreja, PT, Cine Teatro Plaza 5/08/09, Famalicao, PT, Casa Das Artes 5/09/09, Torres Novas, PT, Teatro Virginia 5/23/09, George, WA, Sasquatch! Music Festival 6/20/09, Morrison, CO, Red Rocks Amphitheatre with David Byrne 6/26/09, Berkeley, CA, Greek Theatre with David Byrne
I would add the following bands to the list of acts who probably won't be at Bonnaroo due to their involvement in the Harmony Festival the same weekend on the other side of the country:
Michael Franti & Spearhead India.Arie CAKE Matisyahu ALO Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars Steve Kimock Crazy Engine Balkan Beat Box Shpongle DJ Gaudi Wassabi Collective
It's not totally impossible any of these acts could play Bonnaroo as well, it's just fairly unlikely given they're going to be on the other side of the country during Bonnaroo.

usually come on Wed, so that would be my guess would be Wed.
however, our initial announcement came on tues, so that is also possible.
i think we get them this week in the next couple of days, however a good marketing plot would be to release it thursday evening to take rothbury of peoples minds right before tickets go on sale on fri.

If i had to bet $ on it i would say WED but this week is as close to a lock as it gets. ^^ Thursday at midnight would be smart. But if you think about it i dont think Bonnaroo cares about that stuff at all. They dont need to try and sell anymore tickets or counter anything rothbury has done. I would be surprised if Bonnaroo isnt sold out in a couple of weeks

There's still the theory that they are waiting until the end (or near the end) of the Allman Brothers beacon run so they don't take tickets away from those shows. People were hoping that they are doing the same thing they did with Phish (letting the initial tour-dates get ticket-buyers before unveiling them as an act on the farm).
I'm really hoping Allman's get added and it would make sense if they were waiting a little while before putting them on the lineup
Bet u didnt enjoy that LIVERPOOL game like i did! lol Man U is sick but gosh i hate them. CMON BLUES!
haha
i don't keep up with them like i used to, i don't like renaldo at all...

well done mate ill be looking for it on thursday night. Just cuz you rep it then ill be sure to wear my CHELSEA Jerz on Thursday. Hope we run in to eachother
