Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
With the official schedule coming out, how many other acts will realistically be added? I agree that Dead Weather would be nice, but there's a few other acts that would be good additions too.
In terms of time slots, here's where the openings appear to be on the main stages: Friday: Late Night Which Stage Saturday: Noon Which Stage Saturday: Late Night Before or After Ben Harper in The Other Tent Sunday: Early Afternoon What Stage Sunday: Late Afternoon The Other Tent
Just so everyone's filled in (I posted this in the dedicated thread), but I got an email from info@bonnaroo saying that the Somethin' Else was NOT coming back this year. Boo.
EDIT: Oh yeah, but they did make specific mention of additions to come. Yay.
One page back someone posted a message from 'Roo about all the main stage acts already being on the line-up and the only adds left being Arcade DJs etc. I think that should pretty effectively kill the Dead Weather rumors.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
From those dates and the Bonnaroo staff saying there wont be anymore adds. I think that there is a solid chance that Jack White will make some sort of an appearance this year. No Dead Weather and no official add but I think he will come out with someone.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Hey,
Thanks for getting in touch. Superjam is a crucial element of Bonnaroo and is definitely going down this year. Stay tuned for exciting updates as we begin to release more info as the date of the festival approaches. See you in June!
Jonathan McMeins wrote: Good Afternoon Bonnaroo. Really excited about this years festival, you guys really kicked it up a noch or two. The one thing i noticed though when you released the schedule is that there was not the traditional fan favorite Superjam that years past have had. I guesse my question is, and I am in no way trying to get spoilery tid bits out of you, so i dont want to know who it would involve if there is one, I just want to know if you guys are still planning on having a superjam this year? Also there has been talk on the messageboards about more artist additions. Are you guys done with additions now, or is there still some sneaky tricks up your sleeves as usual. Looking forward to your response.
^^The difference is pretty simple. GRAB was never really marketed as its own project. They didn't really put out material. They barely toured. And Phil Lesh sat in on their performance at Bonnaroo, so technically it was P-GRAB.
Besides the context of the conversation is a comparison between Dead Weather, a decidedly non-jammy project, and GRAB, a decidedly jammy one. Superjam tends to involve some degree of jamming, something I don't think Dead Weather is inclined towards.

GRAB did not release an album and wasn't considered a "new band". Nobody said "Oh do you see Trey and Mike formed a new group called GRAB?"
GRAB was just a tour
Dead Weather is a legitimate group.
That said.......I also don't think GRAB was a typical Superjam - like what so many came to expect from a Roo Superjam. GRAB Superjam was amazing but it wasn't like a group of artists doing a one-off show. They played a few tunes from each other and rocked the house doing it.
But when I imagine what Superjam lineups COULD be and what songs they COULD play......I think of different artists who generally you wouldn't see play together covering a bunch of classic tunes.
A lot of people were upset with last years superjam because they said it was basically just a Gogol Bordello show featuring Claypool........which is still cool........but does not sound like a "Super Jam".
I'm excited for this year........but I don't want it to be too amazing considering it will probably conflict with my plans.
They need to do some type of extra special SuperJam since last years was a complete failure. I gave it a shot a and stayed through several songs but it sure did suck!

I had a fun time. I agree that it wasn't like a "superjam" but it was fun. Then again, I love Les - I would see him play with anyone! I think that Superjam will be pretty huge this year. I also hope that they don't announce WHO it is - I likey the surprises!!!
probably has been mentioned already, but the lineup on the website no longer says anything about more artists to be announced. i think we get the superjam and thats it. and since it will either be friday night which stage or sunday afternoon tent, i dont think phish members will be involved

^^^And some of us have gotten personal responses explicitly stating that more additions will come. Just depends on what type of additions they may be (I'm guessing SJ and DJs).
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I dont understand what more people could want. Obviously we all have bands that we wish were on the lineup (Fleet Foxes, Dead Weather, Arcade Fire) but where do u expect to put them on the sched? I wanted Fleet Foxes more than anything but now if they got added that would amlost certainly mean a conflict and me missing another band ( and they will NOT be added ) we can all hope for next year..

My friends volunteered at that, but apparently what's going to be at Bonnaroo is one of Elumenati's big, inflatable igloo dome things, like the one at Burning Man a few years back. I think images are displayed on its ceiling or something? Looks pretty neat, now if we could just get Wayne Coyne to bounce around in it.
