Am I the only one who is kinda disappointed with this line up?
Nope. I mean, I'm really excited just because everybody else is so happy with it, but personally it's not the best for me. Although having the Decemberists on there helps a LOT.
As long as it's not scheduled for 2:15 in the morn (bad karma would follow)
At Bonnaroo, I think the B-Boys will draw about an MMJ-sized crowd, probably a bit bigger. Snoop and the B-Boys could start at midnight on the Which Stage. I think it could work. Then again, I've been wrong before and I'm bound to be wrong again
I can see Snoop doing late night but the it would be a nightmare of human on human at the Which stage if the Beasties were there.

last year MGMT talked about doing a grateful dead cover and they also got new stuff coming out. i'm surprised to see them on this again this year and hopefully they've worked on their stage show. they've mentioned how they need to get their performance stuff a lil better. they watched some dvds of the who and zeppelin live i believe. hopefully they impress.
i was hoping felice brothers would be the band who came back this year. they got an album they working on and were blow-away amazing last year
I'm surprised twice over. First that Bruce IS listed before Phish (!), and second that Beasties are listed before NIN. I thought for sure NIN would be the third headliner, but I guess it's Beasties.
So, I guess we have our very first hip-hop headliner?!
Really it isn't very surprising. I don't thin Phish is going to be playing the Super Bowl halftime show anytime soon.
Honestly NIN has very dedicated fans, but most people don't know anything that Trent has done in the last 10 years. The Beasties have tons of fans, both casual and hardcore.
The poster, the announcement, is designed to draw in people that might not normally come to 'Roo and to attract attention.
The night after the Super Bowl, you would be the worst marketing person in the history of the universe to not list the half time act as the top headliner.

NIN fans are one of the most dedicated fan bases you will find for a band.. I myself and friends have followed shows around like hippies follow jam bands

Holy Sh!t.
Other than the obvious excitedness (real word?) over the big ones, I'm so stoked that The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Gomez are playing. I missed Gomez's set a Roo in '06, and the parentals wouldn't let me skip my either my prom or graduation to see The Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Philthy (same year).
See.....I see the Beasties as late afternoon on What stage....kinda where The Roots were in 07. Also....NIN late night on Which....for no other reason than it will take to long to set up their lights (ala Flips 07)
I hope Phish or Beasties don't have a late-night sets, mainly because I expect Volta to tear it up late-night and that would be a heartbreaking conflict.
I also hope at least one of the following bands get thrown in: ABB Modest Mouse Atmosphere Any Dead Configuration Any Claypool Configuration Soulive Umphreys

That is my point. If NIN is playing at 4am, you will be there, if they are headlining you will be there. For most of the Beastie Boys fans, it isn't that way. Listing them as a head liner might attract people that wouldn't come otherwise.

Oh yeah, they're always like that.
I know. I saw them again at Spiegelworld in NY. it was just as good. they rocked so hard and were just hanging out with the audience before the show like nothing. then they blew everyone away.
