I'm glad there isn't any punk or metal on the initial lineup. I'm sure there will be some once more artists are announced, but hot weather and punk/metal just don't go together.
Really? I never noticed that throughout my entire youth when I went to punk shows nonstop all summer long. ???

I'm pretty sure Phil Anselmo would have something to say about "there isn't any punk or metal on the initial lineup."
And metal was born for hot summer nights.
just not the days. That's the only real problem with punk/metal at Bonnaroo. As much as I love those genres (I probably listen to more punk than anything), their not exactly meant to be played at 2pm. Something just seems a little strange about it. But on the otherhand, most of those bands couldn't fill up a 4 hour latenight slot.
I need to start a kickass punk-rock festival. 140 bands crammed into 24 hours
I'd come to your crazy 24 hour punk fest! Though even after 8 hours of the current toned down Warped Tours I'm beat, so 24 would be tough! And on the issue of punk/metal and warm days, as much as it may have "sold out" Warped Tour is a perfect example of how punk and heat mix just fine 10 years strong for me! seen it get awesome and slowly dwindle as punk changed, but this year gives me hope!
ohh..and saying that screamo is just emo kids tyring to be hardcore is a perfect example of modern screamo...those lil emo kids just need to stick with their normal poppy sound..it works just fine and good sometimes (ie: Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World)

Down? maybe even consider Coheed and Mars Volta Hard.
I'm very dissapointed there isn't any punk on the inital line-up. as I have stated before but Against Me! and Gogol had some of the best crowd presence there was...
I do expect it to be added though...
Hoping for: The Gaslight Anthem Against Me! Flogging Molly
i'm actually really hoping for Flogging Molly. would love Rise Against also, but not sure if they would fit.
would love to see both of them added. never seen flogging molly but i do enjoy their music. rise against puts on one hell of a show. would love to see them at roo

i think i saw somebody mentioned rise against was with them, so i guess we can cross them out. and even worse the day they are in my area is the monday after roo, which means i prob wont be able to check out the tour.

Um... somebody never went to the old martinets at CBGB's and Wetlands.

Considering I am 22 and live in Winnipeg, no I didn't. And considering I'm typically getting home at about 5am after a show and waking up at about 1pm, I probably wouldn't go anyway.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
monotonix are pretty nuts. I saw them with Dan Deacon and Dark Meat (a bunch of E6 rednecks on acid playing freak metal). Only show I've been to where the stage collapsed.

My wish list: PENNYWISE!!! The Circle Jerks Bad Religion Anti-Flag Rise Against
Just as an aside, according to the Lolla Board Rise Against is already "semi-confirmed" for Lollapalooza. If anyone is really super interested I can dig up the link.

Anti-Flag would not fit in at the farm.
Rise Against is touring with Rancid on the 11-13. The 14th is open, but that would mean they would go from Sauget, Illinois to Manchester back up to Cleveland. It is possible, but I don't see it happening.
I think they are going to add either Man Man, Against Me! or Tom Gabel solo, Flogging Molly, or the Pogues.
I read on the first page that people were complaining about the moshing at AM! Is this true? They are a punk band. Are people supposed to stand there? If you think Against Me! was bad, just wait for Flogging Molly. They require everyone to be drunk off their arse at those shows.
