if dane cook is at bonnaroo next year i'm not going
So one single comedian being added can make or break the entire bill for you? There will be other stuff to do during that time, you know. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Dane Cook fan either, and would prefer hundreds of other comics to be on next year's bill... but if they did add him, I just wouldn't go see him - simple as that.
I could see Carlos Mencia being in Chris Rock's spot too.
Dear God... NO. For me, he holds the crown for most unfunny, annoying comic out there (yep, he even trumps Larry the Cable Guy). He's only about a quarter Mexican, his real name is Ned Holness, and he steals other comedians' material all the time. ¿Cómo se dice "hack" en español?

How could anybody compare Carlos Mencia to Chris Rock?
It wasn't a comparison to Chris Rock. Like Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia is a big enough name that he could probably grab a set on the main stage a la Chris Rock.

Except they're both unfunny assholes. That's lie saying that both Paramore and Good Charlotte are big enough names, and have enough fans to get a slot on the main stage. That doesn't mean they're deserving of one, much less a slot at the festival at all.
l would ditch the mainstage comedy all together. The Chris Rock thing just didnt work and neither would anyone else. I really liked the early years when DJ's like Z-TRIP would fill in the gap on the main stage right before the headliner. Just think of the $$ they threw away on Kanye and Chris Rock, they could have landed someone big like David Bowie or David Gilmore
^^i like the dj better than the comic. I mean yeah chris rock was good and all, but it just didnt seem...natural, it was sorta like stuffing fish down your pants! its fun and squirmy, but it just doesn't seem natural!
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

Never commented on their material or said they were deserving of a spot. I'm going by the fact that Mencia has his own show and Cook is an "actor" now that apparently some people out there like them. At least big money production companies do.
I saw Chappelle at the The Tabernacle in ATL last August. He was fuckin hilarious. Its definitely the best comedic act I've seen live. It was also his birthday and they passed around a book for everyone to sign, which I thought was pretty cool.

i actually think dane cook can be funny, the problem is he needs new quacking material. everything i have ever seen of him is the same jokes as the last time i saw him, the quack is up with that?
*sigh* too bad they cant all be George Carlin, rest in peace, one of the funniest men on the planet, and according to jerry seinfeld he did 14 HBO specials. a real talent, truly dedicated to his work.
id love to see dave chappelle, but whoever they decide (they should keep with this new chris rock tradition i really loved it) for next year, make sure they change their routine around a bit to fit the situation. Chris Rock was hilarious but he didnt make fun of my long hair, corn, or the fact i havent showered in a week
