Ok.....so I will be getting ready for roo early now. They have told us not to take a shower now to conserve water.
Going down stairs to raid my roo stash for wet wipes.
I am soooo sorry that you all are having to endure this. I think someone said this earlier in the thread but if it weren't for the Gulf mess this would be getting a lot more media attention.
So I was flipping through the TV channels and got excited at the prospect of seeing a horror movie, with zombies no less. Much to my dismay it turns out that I had misread the listing - they hadn't said 28 Days Later, which I thought I'd be getting but 28 Days (some weird Sandra Bullock romance). I can only assume that 28 Days Later is the sequel showing the ramifications of what happened to everyone who actually watched 28 Days.
and to the rest of you....please take time to remember the one that first brought you to the party of life...your mother.
I couldn't agree more. Seriously, everyone get out there and spend some time with your mom, pick the phone up more often, writer her a letter, do something nice for her. Don't put it off for later because once she's gone she's gone and later may never come. Some of us don't have the luxury of spending any more time with our moms so enjoy the time you get with her and don't take it for granted.
well, I have finally made it all the way into the 21st century. got surprised with an ipod for mothers day. I'm just not one to buy a lot of stuff for myself so it was always on my "to get one when I can" list. Oldest daughter is home from college and is spending today loading it up with all sorts of cool stuff shared from hers....so I'll have a pretty substantial Roo playlist to get me even further excited.
I must have done something right - those 2 girls have turned out amazingly cool.
Now that the flood situation is getting under control (this flood turned my world-view upside down), I'm finally starting to get excited for Bonnaroo!!! ONE MONTH, I can't believe it. It will be a much needed break!

and mama's got tunes to go now! woohoo!
The reason your girls turned out so great probably has something to do with how awesome their mother is. But seriously, i'm sure you had a lot to do with their awEsomeness.
on another note:
My boss made a whole pizza for lunch and it has made the WHOLE friggin office smell like pizza. There are two pieces left in there... untouched. I didn't go to luch today b/c I'm trying to get some xtra time on my pay check for the weekend, so needless to say i'm starving!!! I mean... the pizza is just sitting there! Has been for the past hour. I'm thinkin...'hey, if you're not gonna eat that.... i totally will! no need for it to go to waste u know....'
ugh! I wanna ask but I don't wanna sound like a moocher.

you are so sweet!
I dont think he would think you a moocher. Is his plan to let the pizza go to waste? then nobody benefits. Just mention that you worked through lunch...he should be impressed with your work ethic. just my opinion, but I hate it when people waste food. Too many people going hungry in this world for that.
Streets of the City: Uncomfortable Truths and Generalizations
If a pretty person smiles at you, you think, aw, isn't that nice
If an ugly person smiles at you, you think, crap, what the hell does this freak want
It's funny but I was actually thinking about this today. I always smile at people as I walk down the street. The men tend to smile back but the women just glare at me or give me funny looks. I can usually brighten at least one person's day by smiling so it's worth it. I've actually been known to skip down streets as well and every once in a while I manage to inspire someone to skip with me.

Haha - I'm happy that you do that too! I always smile, I never judge! Sometimes someone is just having the worst day - and a smile is helpful! I hug a lot too though! If I see you daisychain, we are SOOOOO skipping around for at least five minutes and smiling at everyone! YaY!!! haha!
I know what you are saying... but even that old man across the way in the last car on the subway at 3:30AM on a Tuesday morning, who has a giant grin on his scarred face and keeps winking in your direction with his hands in his pockets?
