I bought No Age tickets for this Sunday, they were only 10 dollars. It was a real spur of the moment thing and it's about an hour and a little more away, but i'm on spring break so i figured why not?
The openers at Dropkick Murphys Wednesday were good! Frank Turner has a song 'Nashville Tennessee' which he played being in Nashville for the first time. He said the South is favorite part of America becasue people so so nice. I plan on buying his newest album when I confirm with the BF that I can spend $10 on his iTunes. LOL (He'll say 'yeah' but I like to ask).

This weekend we saw Chevelle - the band was great but the sound and the crowd sucked.
And last night we saw The Belle Brigade - they reminded me of the Indigo Girls and I didn't really like them much. The Good Old War was pretty good and Devil Makes Three were awesome!
saw mutemath last night, our 10th time seeing them and it never gets old. this time they played 26 songs and as always very high energy and tons of fun.

I also saw Dropkick Murphys about a week ago. The openers were awesome (The Mahones, and then Frank Turner), and Dropkick was amazing! I got to try some of the official DM beer they had, in addition to bringing something to drink in, so it made it that much better. Best part though, is that I got onstage! They let all of the girls come onstage during Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced, and then let all the guys on for the next song, and I got up! They did a cover of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap after, and I got to sing into the mic! It was incredible, as it was the only time I had ever been onstage. Only bummer was that I was going to grab a setlist on the ground, but some other dude took it before me. Made me super excited for Flogging Molly at Roo (although I've already seen FM, but had never seen DM before).

I'm thinking about going Saturday. I missed them at Deluna because of work.

Just got done tipping back free beers backstage at the Q. Met Pat and Dan, real cool dudes. They put on a hell of a show too. Definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life
I saw Experience Hendrix Friday. Too many musicians on stage at any given time to be...unconfusing.. if that makes sense. It was just too much. It sounded good, but at one point, there were 3 slide guitars, 2 6 strings and a bass on stage, with a drummer. It was just too much.
It sounded fine, but it was overwhelming to have Dweezil, Kenny, Randolph, EJohnson and 2 other dudes shredding away. Just too much.
I actually only watched about 45 minutes of the show and hung out and drank and people watched and listened for the rest of the show out by the concessions. I had a good time, but I wouldn't recommend the show to other people.
Youth Lagoon was awesome tonight. Way too damn short, but I expected that. Highlight of the night was during "Seventeen", several, perhaps seventeen in total, who knows, (presumably) seventeen year-old girls swayed arm-in-arm in the front row. It was touchingly hilarious.
Dana Buoy of Akron/Family opened and he was very good as well; his set made me want to pick up the record. At times ambient and exploratory, and at others huge, joyous beats with ultra positive lyrics.

Just saw The Men. Might have been better live then on record. Only got a 30 minute set though, looked like half the band wanted to play longer, and half the band wanted to take off.
Toubab Krewe will be playing in Knoxville, TN on 3/31/12 at the Ciderhouse for those of you that live around that area. I put down this particular date because I know a lot of Bonnarooers live in the TN area at least. Also to let people know I will be attending a fun filled weekend in Asheville starting on April 12th featuring members of Same as It Ever Was, followed by PlayLow and a drum circle evening on the 13th, and wrapping it up saturday the 14th with the mighty Shpongle! So for those of you in that area come join in on the festivities.

Just saw The Joy Formidable,A Place To Bury Strangers, and Exitmusic. The sound was horrible except for The Joy Formidable whom had their own personal sound guy so that's probably why.
Just got home from Youth Lagoon a little while ago. Never have I EVER heard a live singer sound SO MUCH like the album. He's got one of the most awesome voices out there. Amazing show, short but totally sweet. Best $15 bucks I ever spent.
Last night I saw SBTRKT and Machinedrum in Athens. Machinedrum was awesome yet again, and grossly underattended. The upside to this was that there was tons of room to dance, and we sure as hell made use of it. He got what few people were there going by the end of his set, with a killer "N*ggas In Paris" remix. I'll see him any chance I can get.
SBTRKT has gotten even better live, which I really didn't think was possible. Sampha has a couple of tom-toms behind him and there were a couple of really intense, percussive breakdowns. He also was rocking the hell out of some cowbells. They just sound so incredible live. I think the smaller venue than where they played at Moogfest played to their advantage; their sound was so huge it pulsated through my body. Plus, they closed with "Never Never" which made my f*cking day.
Guys I went to Shpongle on the first show of the masquerade tour the new stage its unreal....new songs were awesome to...I highly recommend checking out this tour if it comes close to you I'll be seeing him again may 2
First off I went to see Youth Lagoon with Porcelain Raft. I hadn't heard of Porcelain Raft prior to the show but they certainly made me look them up following the gig. Their music has that 80's throwback vibe that is at times a bit Yeasayer ish. Good energy and a tight musical sound for 2 guys. Youth Lagoon were a bit of a let down following PR. They were decent enough and their sound was clean but things were a tad repetitive (my real complaint against the album on the whole). Also I found the singers voice to be grating on my nerves by the mid way point.
Last night I saw Joy Formidable. What can I say, these guys really tore it up (literally and figuratively). They were loud and controlled mostly but also had the ability to turn it down and get quiet and sweet or down right trippy. They were also the first band in quite a while who were generally concerned that the crowd were having an awesome time. They finished the night by just ripping the stage and their gear apart. Awesome show, highly recommended come Roo.
Cursive was great last night. I don't care much for the new album, but that only made up about a quarter of the set. It's been a little depressing watching them play increasingly shrinking venues over the last 5 years, but I think they've probably bottomed out at the 250-350 rock clubs. Which isn't a terrible place to be, honestly. I missed the first half of Cymbals Eat Guitars' opening set, but what I saw was great (and I've seen them a couple times already anyway). They've pretty much abandoned the Built to Spill-isms for shoegaze textures, and it's a good look for them.
I saw Raekwon earlier in the week. It was....pretty good. The first 30 minutes followed the standard Wu live formula (36 Chambers + first solo album), but he murdered the momentum by bringing out JD Era and Kofi Black to do a few of their songs each. He lost maybe half the crowd, then limped across the finish line with a half-assed Incarcerated Scarfaces, which pissed me off because that's probably my favorite. At least the first 30 minutes were good. Oh, and Freddie Gibbs opened, and goddamn....he would have been worth the cover alone.
Saw The Rapture at Music hall of Williamsburg in NY this weekend. Had a BLAST! Was really glad i went, despite getting fiarly quacked up at the happy hour before. Felt like they had the whole crowd going and i was dancing like the white boy i am. Only downside was being a little too drunk and not knowing how to get back to penn station afterward.... Luckily friend seemed to get us there.
I saw Trevor Dunn's Endangered Blood saturday night. Awesome show. cover was only $5 They are playing tonight in ATL if anyone is interested www.trevordunn.net/performance.html

I saw eve 6 on Friday night. I saw them years ago when they were big and they haven't lost a step. Their new music doesn't sound bad either.
Saw sbtrkt on Saturday night. Very good. Baring conflicts he will be my late night show. The only reason I would skip them is if there is some one I've never seen or umphrey's.
