Also, do a little research on the company and the job you are applying for. It helps when they ask if you have any questions and shows that you actually want to work there rather than just going to the interview because it's a job prospect that actually called you back.
Oh, it totally is, I work with several Care Coordinators right now at my current job in long term care. The position is Associate Care Coordinator, so I'm basically their back up person in the office while they're out doing the home visits and such.
I got my first real job offer since graduating last month. Looks like I will be working at the IMF as an analyst. While I'm sure this is not the most exciting sounding position to most of you, I'm beside myself with excitement. Radiohead tomorrow, Bonnaroo soon, and this offer yesterday makes for probably the greatest (little over a) week I've had in a very VERY long time.
YAY I interview Wednesday (YES, RIGHT BEFORE BONNAROO) for the job that I really really really want in Nashville! Any interview tips appreciated!! I hate the weird strength/weakness questions! Oh, lawd, I totally bomb shiz like that every time.
Very similar to this situation but my interview is an hour north of NYC and on the 12th the day after I come home from Bonnaroo. I hate those questions too..

^ Jade: in a previous career I was an HR recruiter, so I learned what impresses most interviewers: a pause (shows you're reflecting & choosing your response carefully) followed by a clear answer that isn't vague or rambling (shows you get down to business) sometimes followed by a follow-up question of your own (shows you are engaged in the topic). The trick is to turn your "weaknesses" into perceived strengths.
Example:
THEM: "So, can you give me an example of when a weakness interfered with you successfully doing your job?"
YOU: <pausing, while actually sweating bullets inside> "To be honest, I find that I am sometimes too dedicated to my job, to the point that I will work late without being asked just to make sure the patient's needs are met." THEM: <scribbling notes on pad: HIRE THIS ONE>
You'll do great. Don't sweat it. Just ALWAYS ask follow-up questions at the end. GOOD LUCK, GIRLIE!!! You've got this!!!
From my interview experience using these tricks, I can say Holls is totally right. You got this!
Hasnt been officially announced at my job yet but just came out of my year end review (which I crushed) and my boss told me Ill be promoted to Engineer II for the new fiscal year!! Great news before Roo especially since I was pretty nervous bout the whole review in general
So here I am, sitting at my desk, when my dad calls this morning. He says he saw on facebook how Bonnaroo is this week. He asked when I was heading out then told me I still had birthday money (my birthday was months ago) at his house, and that I should come and get it before I go to Roo. I was not expecting this since I was at his house at Easter which is after my birthday. Hooray for surprise money!
Two more hours of work > Nats game > home to do laundry and pack > work tomorrow bags in tow > straight to the airport > In Chatt via Charlotte around Midnight > Off to see all you wonderful people Thursday morning!!!!
Yay!!! Lost a filling in my tooth causing infection and resulted in the most agonizing night of pain and emergency root canal this morning! Better to happen now then enroute to bonnaroo.

Before I left for Roo, the IT guy in my office emailed me telling me he was going to upgrade my computer to Windows 7 while I was gone. He said to move everything I wanted to keep to My Documents and to make a back-up. Being in my pre-Roo euphoria, I totally forgot to make a back-up. When I got back, my computer was updated, but My Documents was totally empty. He had left behind some CD-Rs above my inbox, but all of them were blank. Needless to say, I was a little sad about losing a crap ton of old files since I actually use them sometimes. I sent him an email to make sure he didn't move the files to some weird directory. He emailed me back today and said that he had made a back-up just to be sure since I wasn't there when he upgraded it. He had just put it on the stack of CDs on one of my shelves which is why I hadn't noticed it before. Hooray for not having to remake a bunch of files from nothing!

NEW JOB!!! I'm now in charge of the web communications strategy for one of the best computer science programs in the country. I really can't believe it. Its a fantastic bright spot in an otherwise absolutely terrible year.
