I haven't seen a single thing posted about Feist yet and to be honest, all I know about her is from that dang commercial. For being on the 4th line, what does she bring that I should get excited for?

She is awesome! She'll probably do mostly her own stuff, but hopefully a couple Broken Social Scene songs. Check out The Reminder and Let It Die, both are great albums. 1, 2, 3, 4 is actually the only song on that album she didn't get the main credit for writing. It really sounds nothing like most of her other work. Leisure Suite is probably my favorite song. To be honest, though, I haven't listened for her album from last fall. I need to get on that.
Also find the video of her on the Colbert Report. She sings well and does a great interview. My favorite line of hers: "As long as you call me Stephen Colbert, you can call me anything you'd like."
The Reminder was played in my house while my gf and I prepared brunch on many a Sunday afternoon over the last two years. Great vocals and she harmonizes well with the instruments featured on each track.

I've seen Feist twice in concert, and she puts on a kickass show. The lady is seriously talented, and I met her last fall.. she's a sweetie too. She's also got Mountain Man (actually three girl singers) touring with her now and singing backups, and they are wonderful to listen to.
I'd maybe start with listening to "The Reminder".. then "Metals" (the latest).. but do not skip over "Let it Die"--maybe even start with that one--amazing album. She will mostly (if not exclusively) play from "Metals" and "The Reminder".. And I don't think she's performing 1,2,3,4 at all anymore, just for the record. If you really end up enjoying her stuff, find a download or torrent of her album "Monarch".. You can't buy it anymore, and I doubt we'll ever hear it live again, but it's a great album too!

my favorite. she performs it live so beautifully. she doesn't get enough credit for this one, because people are too focused on james blake's version, though that's also a beauty.

I missed her in Atlanta last fall, so I'm trying to make up for it this year by seeing her three times. If you've never heard her solo stuff, I would start with My Moon My Man, I Feel It All, Mushaboom, and Limit To Your Love. If you want to get into her Broken Social Scene work, start with 7/4 (Shoreline), Almost Crimes, and Lover's Spit (Redux).
1234 is brilliant, but she rarely plays it now, and when she does, it's in a weird arrangement where her backing singers take lead and she plays drums. She'll probably play a set heavy on Metals songs, which is her least accessible album, but still beautiful. It's going to be a great set.
Wait the lead singer of Fiest is in Broken Social Scene?
haha, never knew that? but ive never listened to BSS either.
She's one of the singers of BSS. There are 3 females and a lot of males. There's also Amy Milan (of Stars) and Emily Haines (of Metric). They're a really huge group with rotating touring members. I've seen BSS live 4 times, including twice at Roo (including the Sonic Stage) in 08, but I've never seen Feist with them
Y'know, with very little justification, I've spent the past few years hating on Feist. I was a DJ for a little indie station and even intentionally avoided programming her songs into my program.
But after making a major mp3 mix for my drives in the car, I plopped some songs of hers just to try on again. This resulted in a change of perspective. I'm actually kind of excited to see her!
Anyone seen her appearance on Sesame Street? Its pretty freaking adorable.
This song is insanely good. Barring a HUGE conflict I'm going to make sure to catch her set for sure. I absolutely had her pegged as no better than 1,2,3,4 but I'm glad I was proven very wrong.
