Both times she wasn't that great with them for some reason, her vocal were mixed too low.
Even on the records, her vocals aren't ever really that high in the mix.
It works better on record with BSS, just because of how dreamy they are to begin with. But both times I've seen her with them they were big outdoor venues on the water, and both times her vocals were almost completely snuffed out by the wind and crowd noise.
I'm looking forward to seeing her do her own music at this point to see what she can do.
Wait the lead singer of Fiest is in Broken Social Scene?
haha, never knew that? but ive never listened to BSS either.
She's one of the singers of BSS. There are 3 females and a lot of males. There's also Amy Milan (of Stars) and Emily Haines (of Metric). They're a really huge group with rotating touring members. I've seen BSS live 4 times, including twice at Roo (including the Sonic Stage) in 08, but I've never seen Feist with them
I saw all three of 'em at Lollapalooza one year when I was a kid. was amazing

That makes sense. I bet it was next to impossible to hear Lisa then. Every time I saw them, she was hard to hear anything she sang. Both times at inside venues, nonetheless.

I'm slowly getting more and more excited for Feist. Metals has really grown on me. It's funny though; 2-3 years ago, Feist would have been my top draw on the lineup. Now, she doesn't even make my top 10 (yet she's working her way up). I'm happy she's on Friday, because right now, Friday is lacking for me.

Her Asheville show just got moved from a larger venue (Asheville Civic Center - seats 7600) to The Orange Peel (seats 1050). I feel bad for the promoter, but this is the best news I'll get all week. She killed it at Coachella, so I can't wait to experience her in a club.
I know it's a silly song, but Mushaboom gets stuck in my head and I end up singing it all day...
I once fell in love with a boy and our Mushaboom life. I don't love him any longer, but I still love Mushaboom. Feist just made it sound so much better than it really was.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
