I can't tell you how excited I am to hear that The Word will be back on the farm. I have not seen them and more than Radiohead, this is the band I'm the most excited to see. The Word is John Medeski, Robert Randolph and The North Mississippi All-Stars.

Do you think bands know what sets they're playing that far in advance? He could just be assuming or it could be wishful thinking on his part.
id imagine they have an idea of when it will be. i think headliners and late night sets are most likely discussed. the mid tier acts are prob know days, but not times.
Yeah I guess that's probably true, I'm sure when they contact the bands they know who they want for late nights, ideally. It's obviously not always the case though because Bootsy got switch with Omar Souleyman last minute, which I find kinda funny because Bootsy ended up being late anyway.

I'm sure some artists determine when they are playing ahead of time, based on what else they have scheduled. In the "Direct Comfirmation" thread, Dawes said they were playing Friday when they confirmed that they they would be there.
This is great news! not thrilled with the "headliners" but this is my favorite supergroup ever, so i can't complain. Two of my favorite Bonnaroo shows are The Word in 2005 and 2004 when Luther played with RR and the Family band.
Latenight would be ideal, but Sunday afternoon worked well last time. Also, RR loves playing with other bands on the farm so that'll be fun having him back
