Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I know as far as punk bands go, Bonnaroo plays it pretty safe, and only really gets bands that have some decent name recognition. Some bands I'd love to see in 2012
- Bouncing Souls - The Living End - Less Than Jake - Dillinger Four, Swingin' Utters (both are a bit of a stretch
I've never gotten in to straight punk. I like punk-y music, like early FLips or early Ween, but unfiltered punk isn't something I've ever been able to do.

misfits! bad religion! rancid! the descendents! THE ADOLESCENTS WOULD BE KILLER (one last hoorah before steve soto kicks the bucket)!
and what about some SKA punk! bad brains! reverend horton heat! streetlight manifesto! reel big fish! even slightly stoopid (yes im aware they've gone the route of reggae/dub, but their origins are deep in punk)
the problem is that punk rockers would never find themselves at bonnaroo. unfortunately.

Bad Religion will always be my top choice. I would also love to see Rancid, but according to Fat Mike, "Rancid would never play Bonnaroo. They Still have integrity, unlike us."
I grew up on punk, and Ill admit that I dont listen to it nearly as much anymore, and I dont know any of the up and comers so all of my suggestions are older bands. Full lst: Bad Religion Rancid Propaghandi (will never happen) Fugazi or have a Minor Threat Reunion (Also will never happen) Lagwagon (could happen but probably won't) The Tossers Sick of it All
Most every other punk bands that I like/liked potentially would come to Roo have gotten stale over the years (Flogging Molly) or have already been to roo (Nofx and Dropkick Murphys) or just make bad music now (Against Me, Rise Against).
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Never got big into punk. Wouldn't mind checking out rancid though
I was scrolling slowly when I got to your post, so I actually just saw the list without the "just kidding," and thought, "oh my god, please say he's kidding!"
I had so much fun at this festival in April, I hope Bonnaroo can book a few of these bands for 2012.
I won't even lie.. I would be on the rail if Saves The Day played and weren't conflicting with something major for me. I still know every word to their first couple albums, I don't even know why i'm admitting to this.
While not punk in the way most people see it, Le Tigre at bonnaroo would blow my little 15 year old mind away.
Didn't they break up?
Not that I'm aware of, they just realized a tour DVD. I believe they just took a break for awhile to do other things, but I see a tour in the near future.

I'd love for Roo to pull from the pool of bands playing Riot Fest in Chicago: All, Descendents, Danzig, Down By Law, The Business, Youth of Today, Helmet. I also second Fucked Up. They killed at Matador records' fest.
Bad Religion Guttermouth Pennywise AFI The Vandals and bring back Rise Against
Has Pennywise put out a new record with their new lead singer? Their live shows back in the day used to be phenomenal, but i havent listened to them in years and saw that they switched singers. Vandals and Guttermouth would be amazing.
Also, how is Rise Against's new record I had given up on them after Appeal to Reason. I know they will never put out something as excellent as Revelutions per minute again, but I would appreciate something better than the last 2 records. If the new one is decent I would be willing to give them another chance. Every time ive seen them they were great, but that was all pre Appeal to Reason. As for AFI they were great about 10 years ago Shut Your Mouth and Open your Eyes, Black Sails in the Sunset, and The Art of Drowning are allgreat, but I can't even listen to anything theyve released since. Do they ever play any of the old Leno live or is it all Decemberunderground and Sing the Sorrow Material.
I am so out of the punk loop. I didn't even know that about Pennywise.
I saw AFI at Lolla last year. They play some of their old stuff. It was about 50% punk and 50% "affee". Still a good show but not as good as when I saw them back in '04.
Guttermouth should only allowed to play a tent right before a super hippie jam band. That would be f'n hilarious.

I vote yes on ska/punk stage next year! I've been out of the loop for a while but don't a lot of the newer bands still play warped tour every summer? I think that starts end of June though. Saw the Specials in AZ in 98 I think and that was freekin amazing!
