This is one of the newest bands my buddy and I are getting in to, and we are stoked that they are gonna be there. i really hope they get a Thursday set. A good way to start the weekend, ending Thursday night with these guys.
So I originally passed over them because they are straight up country and country music is one of the only genre's I just can't to get into... I've tried and been able to find around a 1:50 like to dislike ratio of country music.
Then read this thread and realized that I already loved one of their songs! Mumford & Sons did a Wagon Wheel cover and it's an amazing song that I've been listening to for a couple months...
Anyway I've listen to more of OCMS and I really bet they would be a blast to see live! I was wondering what type of dancing goes on, as I can only imagine a wacked out form of line dancing, haha!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

Twanging strings, moaning about stuff, fiddles, banjos = country (commence trying to rip me a new one for this)
nah, i see where your are going with it, but they are more a blue grass string band vs straight country. they do have country qualities, just not full out country.
FWIW - from all music
Genres
* Pop/Rock * Folk * Country
Styles
* Neo-Traditional Folk * String Bands * Jug Band * Contemporary Folk

I refer to them, Avetts, Felice Brothers, Dave Rawlings, and others "country-ish". Of course I also use the terms "folksy" and "americana" and "rock" and "good music". I kind of mix them all.
My GF and I love OCMS, we went to the NYE show at the Ryman, and are heading to Atlanta to see them at the Fox with John Prine on Friday.
My wife and I will be at that show. We saw JP at Roo this year and he was great. We both love OCMS and this will be both our first time for seeing them. We're staying right across the street so we're planning on getting a bit rowdy too.
